Will be easy for NOBODY...
Clotteys defense is too tight for Cotto to hurt him, but he often doesnt throw enough which will leave Cotto opportunity to out work him.
Cotto is going to be looking to go for Clotteys body, because his head will not be available 90% of the time... and when Cotto goes to the body, Clottey will be looking to counter shots immediately, with FAST left hooks and uppercuts.
Another thing, people saying Clottey will stop Cotto because of his pressure. Clottey CAN apply pressure, but he is not a pressure fighter. Clottey is a defensive first, counter puncher... who looks to take advantage of whatever it is you do. Occasionally Clottey will take the lead with a quick powerful jab, and a fast left hook to the body.
With Cotto's boxing skills and body work... Clotteys tight defense, fast hands, and CLEAN combination punching... this fight will be a CLOSE fight and easy for nobody.
On top of the fact they are BOTH hungry, Cotto wants to be back on top with a win over an elite fighter (Clottey is elite imo)... and Clottey wants to FINALLY be on top, the way Margarito did when he came to fight Cotto.
This fight will be close, it will be competitive, and nobody will win this easily.
Neither man is coming to lie down, and they are both capable of beating each other.
The only thing I am betting on, is this fight goes the distance.
did everyone score the first round 10 - 8? because ten point must or the first round was 9 - 9 cotto didnt land much except one quality jab that caught clottey for a flash knockdown and i thought clottey had controlled the rest of the round.
I called this fight though...
Yes I also called the fight. I said it would be close, but I said Clottey would have to stop or KD Cotto a few times, because the cards were stacked against him.
I thought harold ledderman's scorecard was very accurate, because each round had a pretty obvious winner and loser
I think cotto won but i agree 116-111 is bullshit
I don't have the card I scored the fight on. But I had it Eight to four. The difference was Clottey won the 10th and 11th. Other than a few last second punches Clottey had those rounds under control.

Which are the EIGHT rounds you gave Clottey again?:ugh:

Who did you have winnign homie. I had it 115-112 for Clottey. I have no idea how people saw Cotto winning the 10th.
I really need to watch it again before I give my real thoughts on who won... but I felt like Clottey did enough to take it by a very slim margin

Just like I said.... easy for nobody

no they are not clottey just chooses to sit on his ass and expect fights to just come to him if he really wanted fights he should do what pwill does and make set dates for fights and fight the best competiton available and eventually you will get a top contender but instead clottey rather be inactive and wait for a big fight than consistantly fighting and forcing a big fight
He fought 3 times in 07 and twice in 08...

As long Cotto wins in a decisive matter i don't care.
I'm a fan of both!!I'm supporting Clottey simply because Cotto has enough support already and I've been watching Clottey bottom feeding because all the other top welterweights have been casually avoiding the Hitter!!I know in my heart Clottey is as good or better than the other top welters!!i know Cotto has the star power to have a gloryous career even if he losses to Clottey, but Clottey does not have that luxury,so right now I gotta ride with the underdog!!!

Pretty much what Ive been saying... how is that possibly a knock on Clottey?
They ALLLL do it.
And Corrales CHOSE to come up to WW because he couldnt make the weight anymore, and they made the fight with Clottey.
Clottey was still virtually unknown, what's he going to do .. turn it down with a name fighter?
Corrales should've at least picked someone at JWW to fight. He was having trouble making weight at LW, I can see why he moved up. Damn, did he underestimate Clottey.
And yeah, no one can blame Clottey for taking the fight. No one at WW was exactly dying to fight him, then or now.
i think cotto will win off of workrate but in no way do i think either fighter will be that dominate i even expect the fight to be kinda borin but very good from a technical standpoint
Mosley, Margarito, Williams, Berto and Cotto, among others, have come into the ring at 160 or greater while fighting at WW.

This muthafuka comes in weighing 160 at fight night. Thats what i despise. Plus, he hasnt shown me much in his fights.

I support clottey cause he's the underdog, but cotto will win this.
I voted draw, because there was no option for a SD or close decision.
i feel the same way. i got cotto by a close UD, but am pulling for clottey.
