Considering Zab's resume in comparison to Matthew Hatton's does anyone think they should even be sharing a ring? No way for my liking...I know Zab has lost most of his "big" fights but Matthew Hatton is only living off of his brother's name and will be exposed big time.
I take it you don't know who Rafael Pineda is. He was washed up when he fought Judah though and went to split decision.
Ryan Davis was a light middleweight, I agree Judah looked bad against Ernest Johnson though.
Pineda yeah I am well aware of who he is yet at the time he fought Judah would you honestly say he was any better than the version of Matthew Hatton who is fighting Zab?
in fact if I am not mistaken he was coming off of a fairly lengthy layoff prior to fighting Zab right?
Davis I forgot was at light middle
and yes the Johnson fight was an abortion
sorry but you want to see more into Zan than he is fine but he doesn't have the power everyone thinks he does, he has fought mediocre opposition and hasn't been able to ice them before, and is now in a distinct decline so while he should beat Hatton I wouldn't put it past him to see him lose and lose emphatically
Just shows you how even the not-so-highly regarded 1980's/1990's contenders such as Rafael Pineda were probably much better than today's group of champions when even an ancient Pineda goes to split decisions against both Zab Judah and Cory Spinks.
Isn't that always the case? You watch the washed up fighters of yesteryear go up against the touted ones of today and it's obvious in their primes they would've wiped the floor with them. I completely agree that a prime Pineda defeats the highly overrated Zab and Spinks as well, probably.
GreatA, your first line should read "who Rafael Pineda WAS" lol.

Ernest Johnson
Rafael Pineda
Ryan Davis
I would say Matthew is better than this lineup of cans and yet Zab couldn't ice these guys
hmmmmm

I honestly think that if Zab's speed is still there then he catches Matthew Hatton all night long. I would expect a stoppage but can see an easy points victory if not. I just don't think Matthew's got enough in him to counter this Zab's speed.
so how do you explain his weak KO record since his fight with Tszyu then?
Level of competition and lack of finishing ability.
He does have punching power and most importantly speed.
So if Zab is so "over rated" or "past it" and he still smashes Matthew Hatton then my point would still have been proven. I agree he has seen better days but Matthew Hatton is a club fighter at best and not even a washed up Judah has fallen to that level!
All will be revealed in a few weeks. No doubt now I have written this Matthew Hatton wins by KO :)

To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised at all. AT ALL. Sh*t, an ancient Pineda almost beat a "prime" Judah. What does that tell you?

Which means absolutely nothing. You're right but his most mediocre isn't too far from his best.
I'll agree with that. Don't get me wrong, watching Zab Judah fight is about as appealing to me as getting my dick swabbed for syphilis, but I won't say he can't beat Matthew Hatton.
At his most mediocre he was talented enough to beat Matthew Hatton.

look hes no tommy hearns, but he isnt feather fisted.
and with ricky walking straight in, hands down, chin up and not moving his head. just focusing on offense.. with zabs speed and southpaw stance he will ice ricky. if he had the power to hurt cotto, he has the power to ice ricky.
and matthew hatton just isnt on his level..
I'm not gonna argue that he's washed up. I think those of us saying he could show up focused and really be decent are just believers that he has a lot of wasted talent that he could possibly utilize if he wasn't such a slack-ass moron.
At his best, he was overrated. Now he's just a hindrance. Thank God he's off TV.
If I hear one more person saying "If Zab is focused" or "if Zab trains" or whatever...I'm gonna puke.
At what point are people going to realize that Zab is who he is and that's what he'll always be. Actually, based on the last time I saw him live, he's not even that anymore. Seriously, Zab Judah has to be the most overrated fighter of the past ten years and number two isn't even close.

It all depends on what Zab Judah shows up. The guy has talent, he just wastes it with his shitty attitude. If he comes focused, determined and smart he'll beat the hell out of Matthew. If he doesn't it will just be a messy fight and no one will give him credit for it.
