Floyd isn't going to be to big for Marquez, we have seen some of Marquez' more recent photo's - he's sizing up nicely. going by his frame size it looks as though there won't be any problems. Floyd fought in lower weights classes himself, he's not a huge guy. He's taller but clearly will be skinnier than Marquez considering Marquez is structurally wider even at 135.

lol i was thinking the same
But this is still a mismatch ....Ye its exciting seeing two great fighters....but not when 1 is a lightweight and the other is a welter(a small welter) but still...........
even the die hard Floyd haterz are starting to admit that he's small. They say that he's a WW but a small WW. The truth is that he's not a WW. He just fights there. You can argue that he shouldnt be there then but it is what he is. This guy is so far from Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, and so on. He just fights at that weight for some reason. I dont know why but he's not a WW at all. Everyone is trying to play this like its a LW vs a WW. Come on now. Thats just pure hate. He comes in the ring for every fight at the WW limit. He gains nothing after the weigh-in. I mean he could have his next 5 fights at 154 but would everyone still say that he's a JR MW that is picking on little guys if he ask them to move up? NO, its not real. He just fights there. Floyd is just an idiot who doesnt know how to talk and defend himself. He can fight at WW because he's that good but the truth is that he's not a real WW, he's just a guy fighting at that weight.
Again, thats why JMM will fight him. Why do people think these guys always say that they will fight Floyd but no other WW. Why would Pac go up to 144 or higher to fight Floyd but he wont do it for Mosley & Cotto. He's not a WW and people need to stop acting like he is. He just fights there. Again, you can say that he shouldnt fight there then or whateva but that still doesnt take away from the fact that size wise he is not this huge monster that people are trying to make him out to be. He is and has always been P4P the smallest guy in boxing

This is what JMM has to strategize against. If he can void this disadvantage he has a good shot.
almost took you seriously until l looked at your Red rep

Floyd isn't Hatton. He's not Juan Diaz. He's not going to try to physically impose his weight, he's not going to try to bully Marquez with his mass and strength. So the weight disparity won't be an issue in that sense.
The issue at hand is how the extra poundage is going to affect Marquez's physical abilities.
Marquez moved up in weight and KO'd the Lineal LW champion in Casamayor and one of the best LW contenders in Diaz (Juan). Now, what is somewhat being overlooked is that Marquez was arguably losing both fights on the cards and anyone who watched the fights (I saw the Diaz fight live) noticed that Marquez's speed and movement has slowed down at the higher weight. The weight gain has obviously affected him and will put him at a severe disadvantage against someone that uses speed and power over brute strength.
Now, we all know the Mayweather camp knows this. This is why they chose Marquez.
Mayweather is considered one of the fastest, if not, the fastest fighter in the game. And he's fighting at a class that his body has conditioned and adjusted to. Marquez has not. Marquez has shown negative affects of the weight gain.
In conclusion, its not the height or weight Floyd will have over Marquez that is the issue, it is the weight MARQUEZ will be fighting at that is the issue.
However, Marquez agreed to the fight. He feels he can win at this weight. So we need to get over it and just anticipate how Marquez is going to pull this one out of his ass because somehow, this metrosexual wonder McGivers his way out of trouble. This could be another case of Juan "Si Se Puede" Marquez.
..................
Exactly. Floyd and Marquez are almost exactly the same size. The difference is that Floyd totally outclasses Marquez in skill, intelligence, and athletic talent. Easy, dominating win for Floyd.

some good posts here, nice to see some common sense. Size is not going to be a factor here. Floyds a small WW anyways.
Great fighters do great things.
These are the 2 top techs in the game..
Skill, will win this fight for either fighter.
There is only 4-6 pounds on the night weight wise , nothing to worry about , if its ok for Manny to fight JMM its fine for Floyd , its a good fight featuring 2 truly great fighters Im looking forward to it .
100% Truth.
ok cool.................thats amazing then floyds so small fighting these bigger guys,,
he does it to keep his speed. He's got big legs though, as big as Pacquiaos. The only guy Floyd's been really at a size disadvantage was Oscar anyways. His other opponents have been around his size.
but floyd and jmm has gotten bigger..when were these measurements taken???
Floyd got smaller actually, when he fought DLH his arms were 13, but that was at 154.
this is Floyds measurements for the Hatton fight. My original link was working but then it stopped for some reason, just google Mayweather tale of the tape.
