and fight at weights they have rarely, if ever fought at? But it's not fair for a guy to have to drop down in weight to meet the smaller man in the middle? The smaller fighter is still fighting up, but if he was met in the middle i would be less weight to move up. I have noticed that alot of these type of statements have been made here lately so i would like to know your thoughts on this.
I agree with mangler but in certain situations with things like mega fights im not against it....
But personally i do think coming down is harder then going up only because
1. The chances of dehydration are high....if you dont plan it correctly your fked...
2. Boxers body fat levels are probably around 3% or so.....Especially boxers that are at the top of their divisions...so in order for them to lose weight, they are going to have to lose muscle....and that is not easy whilst training to stay in good shape...i dunno how they can manage it
fair has nothing to do with it, it's about what makes sense for the camp holding the cards
you're also assuming that moving up and moving down are equally strenuous
i'm not assuiming anything.....i want to hear opinions on this subject. your making assumptions on something i have not stated.
