With the whole change in the lightweight and jr. welterweight landscape, where do you think he would fit in? You think he would have faced Pacquiao at some point? I mean it's all hard to say when he's obviously not around, but from where he last stood, what you think would of happened? :boxing:
Chico was seriously in a pinch by the time he died. Dude was just having ridiculous weight problems. And to make it worse, he was way too outsized at Welter. I remember being real worried for his future.
Add to that he was in terrible financial shape and you can only conclude that he would still be trying to make a living, trading on his name to test prospects on ESPN or ShoBox.

sadly..i think his boxing career ended with the clottey fight and i think it contributed to his death..after the clottey fight i had a very bad feeling and days later it was justified...chico had nowhere to go..couldnt move up or down...and sadley before the clottey fight its showed him in the gym googing around in good spirits..that fight crushed him
Seeing him with his trainer after the fight was very emotional, you couldn't help but feel sorry for him.
Hard to say I guess. But if Gatti goes to the hall of fame, Corrales belongs in there too. And I view both of them as borderline cases that more than likely don't deserve to be in there. A fight between those two would have been exciting while it lasted more than likely but Corrales would have eventually smashed him.
Probably not doing too well, although maybe he could've got down to 140 and made some noise there.
He was declining and took a pretty bad hammering from Clottey in his last fight.

So many wars, like Gatti and Castillo, he'd given too much to the ring, fighting the way he did
He was past it by the time of his last fight wit Clottey. No way he'd still be active now, at least not at the top level.
with proper management he might be able to get himself a belt at 140 if he could make the weight imo. or maybe hed just be like gatekeeper status, which would be sad to see.

he would most likely be too big for 135 at this stage. probably get in the mix somewhere at 140, maybe even 147 (the guy was huge). but u never know. all i know is he wouldve given us some more memorable wars. RIP chico.
That guy was a huge SFW, I don't know about him being a huge Jr WW. He'd of taken over 140, I'll tell you that much.
Unfortunately, I don't think he would ever be on top again. Probably fighting on ESPN or maybe HBO for free.
Oh yeah he would probably be at 147 or lower, because his last trainer, Woods, asked him if he wanted to move down. But he had so much weight trouble.
