Yes ricky still has 2 or 3 good fights in him before throwing it in, lets be honest, the man only lost to the two most skilled fighters in atleast the last 10 years.
So whgo should he fight? Heres my idea...
He should first settle the old rivalry in manchester and knock out Junior whitter. Big fight in Manchester stadium that i would fly over to England to see. I see hatton winning by Ko against Whitter.
Second and maybe last, I think a fight with Juan Diaz at jr welterweight would be a good fight before retirement solely because of their styles. tough one to call..... anybodys fight imo.
Hatton held belts at two weight classes and was the real champ of one of them as well for quite a while. That is a strong legacy. Personally I think he should retire. He won't go down as an all time great, but he'll be remembered and there is really nothing he can do to change his status at this point barring a miracle turn around anyway.
If he does return, however, he should focus on fighting domestically over in England. He should be done with this place. For his first fight back he needs to pull up a bum from 135 to make sure nothing can possibly go wrong. This one needs to be about confidence. Willie Limond, anyway? After that, assuming it goes smoothly, the Witter fight makes tons of sense. If he gets through that some of those rather... gullible fans will think he is back, and from there a Khan (who has also fought three or four more times) fight suddenly makes sense.
If he were 3-0 in those fights, then he could try to re-enter the world stage. Maybe by that time he could even try for a belt by staying home and going after Paul McCloskey of Ireland who could very well have a belt in a couple years time. 140 is always weak and it will be again soon. 147 always carries tons more money and 135 even brings in more as well. It is just how boxing always works. There will be someone beatable for him to get a belt back. If he were to go 4-0 and get a title though, I'd pray he retires. If he made another assinine run at P4P status he'd probably die.
EDIT: After I typed that I realized he'd probably get a belt from the Khan fight. If he doesn't that means Khan was stopped again somewhere and that fight doesn't make sense anymore.

well as a hatton fan, everything was looking rosey before the pacman fight. but to get obliterated the way he did, now its looking very grim indeed for hatton. i honestly do not see the point in carrying on because he has had 2 fights against arguueably 2 of the best of our generation and got knocked out both times. he has won 4 world titles at 2 different weights and made plenty of coin. Hatton said all he had left to do was try and become p4p number 1. He cant do that now. therefore there is absolutely no point in carrying on.
the original hitman, hearns was able to annex a middleweight title some 2-3 fights after his KO loss to hagler...
then a light heavyweight title from virgil hill 2-3 fights after that upset KO win over him by barkley @ age 34...
he can fight the 140 guys if he wants.
get the 135 guys to move up is also possible.
fighters like ricky hatton can get anyone to fight them.
calderon would move up to 147 to fight ricky for the kind of money he can make in a hatton fight.
juan diaz , juan manuel marquez (after the loss to mayweather) , joel casamayor , julio diaz , david diaz , nate campbell , junior witter , timothy bradley , kendall holt , ricardo torres......
all would be good fights. hell , fight breidis prescott to avenge amir khan. lol
i do agree with you bro ....
Ricky is still a money fight versus all guys at 140&below not named PAC

hatton can continue fighting if he gives up his bing eating and drinking and cherrypicks the right opponents.
He should retire, his punch resistance is nowhere near what it was and thats not ideal when your style entails you to walk onto and through shots. I would loathe to see someone like Witter or Frank Warren (with Khan) pick up the scraps of Rick's career
id like him to fight witter, but i wouldnt be expecting an exciting fight, it would be horrible to watch imo
The fight might get some interest again if Witter manages to win the WBC from alexander Devon but as of now i doubt the fight happens..
My thing is Hatton cannot take a shot like he use to and he would lose again if he fights a boxer that can punch and Witter has a very awkward style and can still punch, Might be a boring fight to watch but am pretty sure the atmosphere would be crazy.
I've always thought Witter would give Hatton heaps of trouble, and its no different now. If I were Hatton's advisors, I'd be steering him well away from that match-up.
Witter lacks the speed of Pac and PBF to land a punch that Ricky doesn't see coming (like Pac and Floyd did), which are always the hardest to take since you can't brace for them or roll with them.
I'm fine with Ricky fighting whoever he wants to fight, he's already taken enough risks to be able to decide how he wants to end his career, if he does choose not to hang 'em up.
He has a few fights left in him but he needs to fight people like paulie M, Someone who doesnt pack a punch, Witter is too dangerous because of his awkward style and power and with Hatton's style Witter will land on him and KO him.

i think he's got enough left to beat most at 140 still.
I'd like him to take on Witter to settle that; its the only fighter he can be accused of ducking throughout his whole career so it would be good to get that sorted.
I think he'd win a wide UD, but if he looked sharp in that fight i'd want him to take on bradley, that would answer a lot of questions about how much he has left
Then win lose or draw against bradley fight khan and take his head of his shoulders ~(or pass the torch) as his fairwell fight.
If he only fights once witter would be my first pick, then khan.
