Seriously. He is such a little toolbox. He nuthugs prospects until Lennox Lewis disagrees and then immediately 180's on them. He wikipedia's boxers and spits out nonsense that is so irrelevant in order to sound like he knows what he's talking about. I hate him. I want to punch him in his gigantic hypnotoad eyes.

your just coming off as a hater. at least say your a hater and get it over with. i think your just jelous that he has a job u dream u'd had and can't have it, cuz your a hater. i dont see why so many people hate him so much, i think he's just a normal journalist. chill dude.
You are absolutely correct. I am coming off as a hater. Hence the title of the entire thread "I hate Max Kellerman". You are also correct in that he DOES have a job I would greatly enjoy having, one that I don't feel he is any good at, which only continues to fuel my hatred towards him.
While I understand that you feel I need to "chill", I feel that by entering into a discussion plainly labeled as a Max Kellerman hate thread you have given up all rights to point out that people involved are hating. It's redundant.
Hmmm...No, all his "mistakes" are similar in a way. There is a pattern to all those lies, and the many others told my Max. Can you find what all those "mistakes" have in common?
He definately has his favorites which leads him to have "patterns." You see that everyday on these forums with people saying Mayweather this, or Calzaghe that, and then forgive the same transgression when talking about their favorite.
You see that in all fans. People hate Bonds, hate Kobe - but have them signed to your team and woo-hoo aren't they the greatest players EVER.
Without a doubt, Kellerman isn't objective - he has his favorites. What would be great to have on HBO would be another boxing fan who would contradict him and then have them debate. But that's not the HBO format.
Still, I don't call him a liar.
Kellerman is ok. I can understand why some could be bothered by him S-P-E-A-K-I-N-G T-O-O C-L-E-A-R-L-Y. About his eyes, I don't see anything wrong with them.
Lennox sounds like a retard. He is very annoying.
Examples of Max Kellerman lying:
1. On Saturday, he said Berto defeated Urango by wider scorecards than Hatton. But the scorecards in the Hatton fight were all 119-109, for a 30 point difference, compared to the 21 point difference in the Berto fight.
2. During the Berto-Collazo fight he said "most observers scored the Hatton-Collazo fight for Collazo" - false, according to the old polls and reports, although a few people thought Collazo won, most people scored the fight for Hatton.
3. He said Eubank knocked Calzaghe down in the first round of their fight. Another lie, in fact Calzaghe knocked Eubank down in the first round of their fight..
4. He said during Klitschko-Rahman "Rahman came in on three weeks notice". False - Wlad and Hasim were in negotiations seven weeks earlier in late October, and the contract was signed exactly six weeks before the fight on Oct 30/08.
Not for nothing but a lie is when you knowingly say something wrong, it sounds as if he remembered things incorrectly. Unless you're saying that he had the information in front of him and DELIBERATELY lied.
Example a few weeks ago I told someone I was married in 1996. Oops, I was married in 1997. That wasn't a lie. I remember the anniversary day, just forget the year.
Kellerman had a local TV show in high school about boxing. He was picked up as a researcher for HBO I believe, and then went to Brown University. Thats where his philosophical shit comes in. I guess he thinks if it works for Merchant than his IVY league educated behind can get away with it too. Truth is, I wish he was back on Around the Horn. I asked him about that at a fight once, and he said...paraphrasing here "WOuld you rather talk about all sports everyday on ESPN for less money, or work less, just follow boxing, and take home a bigger paycheck?" I understand, then I asked him if he ever wanted to stab Jay Marrioti or Woodie Page in the head, and he just laughed. I like the guy, he follows the linear titles and is willing to rightfully discredit the paper belts. He does go overboard with his analogies sometimes, but like Mike Tyson, he knows his boxing history.
I agree 100%, he's much better than Lampley or Merchant any day of the week.
I like Max. I may not always agree with him but he's not a robo commentator (although he is more stay-to-the-script now that he is on HBO than he was on ESPN). To me he comes across as a knowledgeable fan who is giving his opinion. Yes he has favorites, but I can deal with that.
As far as backing down sometimes I think it is a matter of respecting the other's opinion. If I thought a guy was great or sh*t and Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins, Lennox Lewis or any other great boxer was next to me and disagreeing I would shut the f*** up and listen. Chances are they can read the skill level of another boxer better than I can, or Max Kellerman, or any other commentator.
Regarding his voice. I'm from NYC, he sounds like the guy next door to me.
