Didn't get to see the fight actually. Some shit went down right when the bell rung and I had to tend to that. I'm not hearing great things though. How was the fight? How did Berto do?
Nothin spectacular. Berto did what he had to do, but man he clinched a lot.
yea...he was playing too safe that's the problem. I don't want excuses being made for him about how these problems can be fixed in the gym blahze blah ...fck that.
With that speed, explosiveness, all around talent he should be spectacular. Nothing less
Damn, you yanks are really not feeling Berto.
we hate huggers, I thought that was apparent by now.
Being british we didnt get the fight last night.....but I've always enjoyed watching Andre and consider him to be a legit force to be reckoned with.
I used to also, but his clinching style is garbage and a lazy style.
Alot of people seem to be underplaying what Urango bring's to the table. That man although quite slow is immensely strong and if he hit's you....
urango is slow as hell, he's a plodder, he doesn't punch in the clinch, he's got no spirit, he fights the same way all the time and has no plan b, he's sooooooooooooooooo predictable. he's as limited as margo, angulo and baldomir.
THE FUKKIN SADDEST PART IS THAT FOR ALL OF URANGO LIMITATIONS, BERTO HAD TO FUKKIN CLINCH TO WIN!!! DISGRACEFUL!!!!
urango is strong for no reason. you might as well take his muscles, give it to roger so roger can pour gasoline on it and throw it in the trash because urango don't use those muscles no way.
Fvck Berto.
We all knew he ain't shit.
You're boy Angulo is so slow he made Cintron look faster than lighning..
What is it with you and hating Mexicans? I like Angulo but I've said numerous times that he can be outboxed. You need to get over this black/brown shit and grow up.
Decent fight. Way too much holding but blame Urango for not complaining and fighting out of it.
Easy opponent for Berto so he put on a boxing clinic...
I saw majority of it, he boxed alright... held a bit apparently but I didn't see as much cause I saw the later rounds, also "ran" a bit if you wanna call it that, he basically hit and moved. Either way he proved he was faster than his opponent and has some good skills, obviously he aint ready for Pacquiao, Mayweather, Mosley or Cotto yet but hes still young and learning... whatever mistakes he has made he can correct in the gym.
I saw some people being critical about his performance after wards but I don't think he was as bad as people make out, he out boxed his opponent and did well, he did say he felt a bit lazy after the fight though. :fing02:
Well he better be ready he holds the WBC strap. Either that or vacate the title and pick up something nobody will go after such as the WBU belt or the IBO, because you can be sure after June 13th Clottey, Cotto and Mosley will be belt hunting.

Berto did okay last night, I think it was kind of boring especially with all the holding. But, he is still a good solid fighter, people shouldn't not dismiss him completely because he held. He at least showed he was multi-dimensional and could do more than just bang at close range.
Berto is the generic,cracked out,overhyped version of Floyd!!He held way to much and ran even more than that,plus the analyst's were clearly biased,it wasnt like he dominated an elite welterweight,after the fight,them guys didnt even look like they fought at all!!!
He boxed well, but spoiled when he needn't really be doing so against quite clearly a lesser opponent
Looked like he was easily capable of knocking Urango out or at least just beating up on him a bit more for the sake of entertainment, but decided not to

He needs work still but each fight he progresses in some aspect of his skills. He is very very green. Juan Urango is there to be hit open and swings almost wildly
Berto who!?
Berto took what was given.. Don't know if it was him as much as Urango.. Urango looked like a bull in the ring but with no boxing skills whatsoever...
I actually liked what I saw from Berto last night, he'd give anyone trouble at 147
Dude are you freaking kidding me! Berto is a bum just like Fraudweather! He pot shots and runs, then when he gets tagged he holds like a bitch and don't let go. I would like to see him in with Cotto or Mosley and when he gets KTFO we will know what a paper champ he really was! He showed nothing last night and if Urango had some speed he would of killed Berto. Everytime Urango hit him with something good Berto held on for dear life. Berto has no power, Stevie Forbes, a lightweight, went the distance with him, Collazo rocked his ass and Berto still got the win, and Urango, who didn't have a scratch on him after 12 rounds, came at him like a bull all night and showed no respect to Berto's so called power!
:boxing::Flush:

Put it this way;
I'm never watching one of his fights again.
:lol1:
it wasn't THAT bad. Berto schooled him. He looked bored in there cause it was so easy

yeah some of my mates that have seen the fight have been overly critical - saying hes hype and made out to be better than he is.
personally i agree with you hes not ready for cotto, floyd or SSM. one thing that does annoy me is the fact that he has the WBC belt but i guess thats a sign of the times, that the 4th/5th best welterweight has arguably the divisions most prestigious belt.
who do you think he'll take on next spacey - cintron? rematch with collazo? perhaps judah?
