An attractive clash between former world champion Paul Malignaggi (26-2, 5 KOs) and unbeaten Mike Alvarado (26-0, 18 KOs) has been scratched from Top Rank’s big June 27 “Latin Fury 9″ PPV card in Atlantic City. Word is Alvarado was injured in sparring. Malignaggi will likely stay on the card against another opponent. The name of Juan Diaz has been mentioned as a possible foe. The show is headlined by two world title bouts, the WBO super bantamweight championship between Juan Manuel Lopez and Olivier Lontchi, and the WBO bantamweight championship clash between Fernando Montiel and Eric Morel.
Juan Diaz in his first fight back from being CRUSHED by JMM and he moves up in weight to fight a slick pot-shotter like Malignaggi?..I don't think that's a good idea just yet..
I think he can beat Nate Campbell and I feel that if he's moving to 140 than that's the fight he should look for..to avenge his first loss atleast..
what do you guys think??..
Paulie Malignaggi has been slept on..he only got 2 losses and that's to Cotto and Hatton..
I wouldn't like to see Diaz in there wit Malignaggi just yet..Malignaggi's got a point to prove right now and it wouldn't be a good position for Diaz..
