who gets koed with headgears on anyways?.....you can ignore the 106 but you cant deny this fact....floyd started at 130 and now is still fighitng a natural 130lber in jmm....opposite of what pac is doing...
People get KO'd with head-gear on.
Floyd was still in the amateurs fighting Older guys as well but it's a different game.
Pac can't make weight anymore in those lower divisions and has continued to move up in weight. Even when he fought Diaz, he weighed 147 on fight-night which is why he told Freddie were moving up to 140. Even Roach said Pac was 152 at 6% bodyfat when training for Oscar and was working his way down. How he managed to go up in weight that weight and stay that lean and good is for another debate and day.
That isn't the same child that was fighting back in the day.
I have to go out in about 5 minutes as well...so talk to ya later.
pac fought from 106 to 147 in the pros...not ama but pros...i doubt any of t these you mentioned fought 10 div north from the lowest they started....proof
AGE is what I'm talking about. Floyd could have turned pro as well at the same age and had that same bs. of where he started at as a PRO.
You give respect for Manny for getting so far but it's overrated when you look at it in another light. Because he turned Pro so young he was also at a disadvantage and because of that, he was KTFO twice. He also didn't fight at 106 for to long. He quickly moved up in weight.
floyd was wearing bulletproof vest fighting when he was 16 in the amateurs and lost 6x,he would've gotten koed without haedgear....pac got ktfo by war veterans in his teens in the pros a decade ago.....
Head gear....
Floyd wasn't KTFO though, was he?
And how many fights did Floyd have in comparison to those losses?
I understand the difference between amateur and Pro...and I understand what Pac had to deal with...but,
Like I've said many times before: Keep bringing up the 106, and overall, it all matters. He was KTFO TWICE back then and was placed on the mat other times.
because he started as a 106lber.....147 is 10 divisions north....can you name any fighter whos done that ?
He started out at 106 because he was 16 years old and was starving. Floyd was 106 pounds in America when he was 16.
Pac also was KTFO TWICE in the lower weight divisions and was put down several times back then.
We also have more divisions today. And yes, we had fighters in the past that were small guys facing HW fighters.
And if you look at the HW division it is so wide with weight that we can factor that in especially. Look at Holyfield vs. Bowe, Lewis, etc.
Chris Byrd won a Silver Medal in the Olympics as a MW at 22 years old and then went on to train/eat his way up to HW because that was his goal...HW Champion. Byrd faced guys like Wlad and Vitali, IKE, Tua, McCline, Holyfield, Golota...even tried to get a fight with Lewis when they were both Champions. Yet where is his respect?
How about Sam Langford?
How about Barbados Joe Walcott?
And if we brake down the fights, how many times has Pac been out-weighed on fight-night...and by how much?
Can we compare Pac to someone that is out-weighed by 10-50 pounds come the actual fight?
How can he be too small when they both step into the ring weighing the same , you boys sure are thick in the head when you ignore fight weight the way you do !! they both fight at 147-148 on the night cant get any clearer :)
Thank you. Maybe Pullcounter can clarify this one for us.
you guys are dumb... even floyd said pac is too small for him.
/argument.

The saddest part of this rant is that you fail to realize what the whole point of my rant was in the first place. Read between the lines. Keep thinking Pullcounter, you're a smart poster, keep thinking...
my point is that most time floyd denigrates his opponents as does his fans, so when floyd beats them, it takes away from the luster.
example 1: floyd calls gatti a C-class fighter. so why does floyd want praise for fighting a fighter that he called C-class?
example 2: floyd called JMM and Pac too small to beat him. So how does floyd calling pac and jmm smaller fighters give him more glory and praise???
ever since floyd came out of retirement, I have been begging his fans to be a little gracious towards his opponents so that floyd can get the maximal credit for his fights w/ jmm and pac, but non of them listen to me.
Good try at putting a spin on things to your liking.
good try trying to spin what I'm saying as spin
1)You still haven't posted what Manny's weights were ON FIGHT NIGHT.
5) Cotto/mosley is a MW on fight night and Pac is a WW on fight night.
Fight night weights are more important, right??
yes, but more important are the official weight-ins, cause if you don't make those you could be fined, be stripped of belts, etc...
no body ever got fined for not making a fight night weigh in or had their titles stripped for not making a fight night weigh in.
2)So if Pac is a WW on fight night (your words) Roach "never intended" for him to "campaign" at WW???
LOLS... nice try but you FAIL again!
let me clarify for your slow retarded ass
fight night weigh in is not the same as official weigh in. it should be obvious to a person with full cognative abilities, that when I say "campaign at WW" I mean the official weight not the fight night weight.
Who's pulling the switcheroo here?
you are
Never mind. You can continue spin a web however you want.
uh... you're the one doing the spinning
I'll give you an E for effort.
I give you F for Fail.
Of course they will. If his haters can't give him credit for his greatness so far in his career, then there's nothing he can do to prove it to them. They don't hate him for what he does, they hate him because of things about himself that he couldn't change even if he wanted to. It's the same reason why they hate Paul Williams and why they would have hated Jack Johnson or Ali if they lived back then.
I'm the best basketball player in the world, but I don't have to prove it against NBA players because I can beat my kids.
Hate me all you want, but thats just the way it is.
I'm the best basketball player ever and don't play to prove who the best is because I would make Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan and Kareem look like shit.
Kobe has lost two times in the finals, Lebron got swept, Magic and Kareem lost a few times, and Michael Jordan had to wait until Magic and Bird got old to take over.
I'm the best basketball player,
ever.
If you don't agree,
you're just a bitchass hater.
because pac officially weighed 142 lbs for a 147 lbs fight
who the hell is gonna pass on the dlh lottery?
lol... you tried to do the ole switcheroo on me, good try... but
3) roach never intended for pac to campaign at WW
5) Cotto/mosley is a MW on fight night and Pac is a WW on fight night. IS THAT FAIR???
yeah but roach didn't know oscar was gonna be stupid and not rehydrate up to 160+ lbs.
Good try at putting a spin on things to your liking.

I'm sure you copied all of these excuses down in your notepad right dirt?
First of all, its D-i-r-k. Please get it right, Kevin Allah.
Second of all, I give Floyd credit for a lot of those wins. I just dont think crying over "haters" and what they say is gonna help. People are always gonna find ways to discredit anything.
Stop worrying about what people "will say" and focus on what Floyd actually does. If he beats the top welters convincingly, those "haters" voices will be heard less anyway.
In reply I ask:
1)Why was Roach saying it was a "one time deal"?
because pac officially weighed 142 lbs for a 147 lbs fight
Let me guess. To get Oscars name on Manny's resume, right. Nothing else mattered I suppose. But you and I know the rest of the story.
who the hell is gonna pass on the dlh lottery?
2)Roach never intended ??? for Manny to fight at WW??
You don't even believe that one yourself. The intention was set way before the fight was signed.
lol... you tried to do the ole switcheroo on me, good try... but
3) roach never intended for pac to campaign at WW
3)Forget official weights. What was Manny's weight On Fight Night against Oscar and Hatton?
5) Cotto/mosley is a MW on fight night and Pac is a WW on fight night. IS THAT FAIR???
4)So Pac didn't force Oscar to lose all that weight and try and regain some of it.
But Roach somehow knew BEFORE the fight that Oscar was gonna have problems "pulling the trigger".
yeah but roach didn't know oscar was gonna be stupid and not rehydrate up to 160+ lbs.
Your post doesn't make much sense.
only to people who don't think logically or rationally.
Floyd hasn't get credit for any of his 39 wins, he won't get credit for his 40th win apparently. Why are they gonna change their hating ways and give him credit for his 41st win? against anybody.

Miguel Cotto=Damaged Goods/He Was Done After The Margarito Fight
Victor Ortiz=Too Small
DAmn that's sad, but you have a point.
and not give him credit for fighting someone smaller than him
Yeah, of course i would give him much less credit then i will give Pac if he manages to beat Floyd. If Floyd wants credit he should fight cotto or mosley. Preferably before Mosley turns 40. Still beating Pac would be his second best win after De La Hoya.
1) roach said the dlh fight at 147 was a ONE time deal
3) roach never intended for pac to campaign at WW
4) unless cotto/mosley/pbf agrees to 142, this fight shouldn't even be discussed. Get down to 142 lbs or GTFO and fight mosley
5) Cotto/mosley is a MW on fight night and Pac is a WW on fight night. IS THAT FAIR???
6) pac officially weighed 142 lbs against dlh. when was the last time cotto/mosley/pbf officially weighed 142 lbs???
pac didn't force dlh to eat dear meat, overtrain, go all the way down to 145, rehydrate after the unofficial weigh in, rehydrate to only 147 lbs, or sign the contract.
FAIL
THE SADDEST PART OF THAT RANT IS THAT THOSE ARE ALL THE THINGS FLOYD AND HIS STANS CALLED HIS OPPONENTS BEFORE HE BEAT THEM!!!!

floyd himself said he would not get beat by dudes smaller than him (he specifically meant jmm and pac)
/ thread
How is Manny too small when he fought Oscar at 147 lbs already???
Can someone please answer that one?
1) roach said the dlh fight at 147 was a ONE time deal
2) pac officially weighed 138 lbs against hatton just a few weeks ago. when was the last time cotto/mosley/pbf officially weighed 138 lbs???
3) roach never intended for pac to campaign at WW
4) unless cotto/mosley/pbf agrees to 142, this fight shouldn't even be discussed. Get down to 142 lbs or GTFO and fight mosley

6) pac officially weighed 142 lbs against dlh. when was the last time cotto/mosley/pbf officially weighed 142 lbs???
Cause Oscar was a dead man at 147. Floyd won't be, at least it doesn't seem that way...so far.
