Floyd is usually trashing his opponents before the fight, but now he seems to be very respectful towards Marquez. Could it be that he wants to change his persona or like he says he actually has grown up.
He is respectfull whenever a fighter CAN'T speak english. His trash talk to get in opponents heads pre fight really doesn't come off to good with a translator that can harly translate half of what mayweather SAYS.thats why!!!If Marquexz spoke even GOOD English I'll bet everything I own "MONELESS"would use his greatest ability, his ability to get an opponent nervous pre fight with his VICSOUS tirade on them.Doesn't really work at all when the opponent can't undersand 10 words of the language

Why would he say he will be beating the crap out of a Mexican midget? Or he can't be beat/hurt/touch by a lightweight guy if he's trying to sell the fight? This PPV fight can be his leverage that he can bring to the table when the time comes for him to take a Pacman fight. He'll do anything to sell/hype this fight...
aint nothing changed, there are just certain fighters PBF respects and JMM is one of them. Same with Kostya Tzsyu, he would be talking trash bout all these fighters during an interview but as soon as someone mentions Tzsyu he has nothing but nice things to say.
why shouldn't he be, these are 2 of the most skilled fighters. They understand eachother and jmm has alot of respect for mayweather, it'd be wrong for floyd not to show him the same respect. Although i'll admit, i'm missing that bad boy act
no homo
im glad he's being the way he is there 2 of my all time fav fighters
Respect is something that is not in PBF's dictionary......He "respects" JMM? but not Ray Leonard?
even in PBF's early years as a boxer, he was always arrogant
I was thinking its because he knows deep down this is a win. People are already giving him hell over the weight difference. No need to trash the man and add even more doubt over the fight.
My thoughts exactly.
I think Floyd geniunely respects marquez, as a fighter & a man. even floyd sees the warrior that is marquez. a guy cant help but respect that. I think it also probably has something to do with making marquez seem like he's worthy to be in there since he's catching so much flack for fighting him.
Is he 32? I think people generally tend to grow up by that age. Or maybe he's taking a leaf out of Manny's book because he sees that he doesn't need to act like a goon to be successful.tell that grow up s*** to ali

He's seen with Pacquiao and Hatton that being a normal humble guy sells just as many fights as playing the asshole. Perhaps you could call that growing up.

Nah Marquez never been the type to smack talk an oponent an Floyd knows that so his showing the man respect as Marquez has showed him trough out the whole ordeal of the fight preparation an im glad that hes showing sportmanship like he did a couple of years ago when he was on his way up!!!!kudos to Floyd.....
Well, over 16 months... might have calmed down a bit, yet against he might not have. Just a point that can be made...
Yeah, I believe he could have realized the damage it was doing to him in the eyes of boxing fans and has decided to mellow out. I also believe the smack talking still goes on in private.
Marquez barely speaks english... whats the use of trash talking a guy who doesn't understand what you're saying. :dunno:
Edit: nvm somebody already made this point... :baby:
Whos going to translate all the stuttering coming out of his mouth?
Marquez doesn't speak great english and wouldn't even know if he was being disrespected.
He'd probably just smile and say, "jes".
i meant this! hahha...jes!!
He could have mellowed out, maybe he respects JMM or it may be because of the whole language barrier. Hard to say but I doubt he's all the sudden turned into a "nice guy".
