Mikkel Kessler and Mogens Palle now meets in court.
The move has been expected since March/April.
Next round of the Kessler-Palle feud will now be in the Copenhagen city court, which according to danish ekstrabladet.dk, means that Kessler cannot fight for other promotors as long as the trial lasts. The trial is estimated to last at least a year.
The main issue in the dispute is the number of options on Kessler Mogens Palle has left. Palle says 3 while Kessler says 1.
It is at this moment unclear wheter Kessler's mandatory defense against Gusmyl Perdomo will take place. Volontary negotiations started yesterday and is scheduled to last a month.
Man, that sucks. Why is it that guys like Frank Warren and Mogens Palle just keep their fighters in a bind like that. At least Kessler seems to want to break away from Palle, so I've got to credit the dude with that. But eventually it's gonna get to the point of where threads about his career aren't even worth bringing up anymore because he won't even be a factor. Of course, getting updates from his case with Palle is good info. But we are not gonna know if this guy is really elite unless he steps up. I do give him credit for his victory over Librado Andrade though. I'd pick Andrade to beat Jermaine Taylor because JT's stamina is dogshit, and he's the best victory on Pavlik's and Froch's resume. I am rooting for Kessler to be successful even though it gets a little annoying when people talk about what he could potentially do.
man kess is going to have wasted his best years with this contract dispute and fighting euro mandtories.
its a shame that its come to this, palle does across as a bitter old man who is just being stubborn for the sake of being stubborn.
the annnoying is this - lets say kess does get out of this in a year and worse case scenario he get out of it in a year and a half, what then? i can see him having another year for tune ups and re-establishing himself in the division, unless hes with an american promoter (GBP, toprank) i can't see him getting the big fights soon enough.
hopefully though he'll only be out of the ring for 6-12 months and no longer than that.
as for haye vs kess - its actually a very close comparison.
haye has the prestige of being crowned the linear no.1 in his division, he held all the major belts at one point and did it in a relatively short time. he has now managed to establish himself in another weight division and hayes speed and power are also among the best p4p.
yet kess has defeated more top 10 ranked SMW's (which is a better division as well imo) and was only defeated by a modern ATG. in terms of his p4p skills/ability its close; like haye kess has speed and power in abundance, his boxing skills show that he can do much more than just blast the other guy away. whats more there are no concerns over his workrate, stamina and chin.
right now id say kess > haye but anyone could quite easily argue otherwise.
So LHW is tougher than 168?:rofl: GTFO
 It was Dawson who didn't want Kessler for the sake of 3 lbs despite calling him out.
I'm sorry, i missed the memo that 168 was stacked?
Kessler has called out Dawson also. Who needs who more?
Kessler should have budged for the sake of 3lbs. What difference 3lbs makes is any mans guess?
Kessler doesn't want to move up because the competition is tougher and doesn't back himself to do the business up there.
He didn't want to fight Dawson for the sake of 3lbs.

Who do you reckon Kessler will go for when he's free of Palle?
Difficult to give an educated guess, but Joe Calzaghe has expressed interest and Kessler said he was flattered. It's also known that german toppromotors Sauerland and Universum are interested.
Kessler himself has always said that he want's to fight in the US and he reiterated that statement lately so maybe he'll go looking for an american promotor.
So you can see it's not easy to guess.
Kessler doesn't need to move up yet, he has no problem making 168.
Haye couldn't, by his own statement, make 200 anymore. He moved up because he HAD to, not really something to brag about.
Haye has done less.

Kessler is a 3-time worldchampion and has travelled across the world to defend his title. He has fought and beaten 4 former champions in his division.
I dont think Haye's resumé compares favorably to that of Kessler. Get back to me if he defeats Wlad in Germany.
You Make Kessler's career look a lot better then it actually is.
He went to Australia and beat Mundine. He's hardly a globe trotter.
Haye was the #1 in his division for a start. Won more belts.

Cruiserweight has a reputation as a division where some people hid because they knew they couldn't take a heavyweight punch.
But, the natural heavyweight Haye couldn't make 200 any more, so he's cashing out with Wlad.
I've yet to see Kessler move up a division.
Haye has done more.
That would be a shame. Kessler has already wasted a lotta time. But if this means he's done bein wasted away and is gonna get down to business in a loaded action division, fukk it. Do whatcha gotta do I guess.
Haye's won only TWO world title fights, against shot old Mormeck and the china-chinned clubfighter Enzo Maccarinelli.
Kessler has won many, against better opponents, like the tough-as-nails Librado Andrade!
I know you love Haye, but the truth is Kessler > Haye.
LOL
Cruiserweight and Super Middleweight competition = No different.
Jeez. I'm not a fan of Kessler's but I really feel for the guy here. He's going to end up with some very critical time taken away from him at this stage in his career, and if he's past prime by the time he comes back, we'll really never know how good he could have been and he'll end up retiring with a sub-par resume. At the end of the day, it's boxing, and you can expect to take punches both inside and outside of the ring. I hope for the sake of his career, and the division, that he gets out of this litigation soon.
Kessler should just buy himself out of his contract (if possible).
He says he has gone very far to get a settlement with Palle, but evidently not far enough.
Palle is and always has been a very stubburn man. That's probably the main reason for him to be able to stay in the promotional boxingbusiness for some 50+ years.
You know it is really sad that Palle wants to fight this. He and Kessler have had a long professional relationship. He is willing to severely delay or ruin Kessler's career this late in the stage. Take a buyout but take something.
Greed has no bounds I guess.
Indeed. It's a disgrace also considering that Palle is 70 something, has a heartcondition and no other noteworty fighters under contract. His business is finished sooner rather than later anyway.
its a warning to other fighters that are thinking about leaving him.
"dont **** with me or I'll ruin you. I own you"
Didnt he do the same to Laursen?
He has done the same to Mads Larsen, Rudy Markussen and Dennis Holbaek Pedersen. Possibly others as well that I have forgotten. Stupid thing is that there's no need to send a message like you said since he is finished promoting anyway for the reasons stated above.
