Both of these fighters have their work cut out for them. So what must Clottey do to ensure he leaves the Garden with a W next to his name come the 13th of June.
Clottey gotta get in 12 rd shape. None of that fightin in spots shit against a beast like Cotto. Dude got the style to win if he got the stamina to match. Clottey needs to walk Cotto down and force an inside fight. Cotto is too fast for Clottey to try and box from outside. Cotto ain't breakin thru Clottey's chin, and Clottey is thick enuf that Cotto's body attack won't kill him like it has others.
Clottey will be ready homie.

Keeping a higher workrate than he usually does. I think that's the whole key to the fight. Whoever dictates the pace wins the decision. If Clottey can pressure him BEHIND punches, not just come forward behind his guard, I think he'll make Cotto really uncomfortable. If he isn't able to throw enough, Cotto will keep a steady pace throwing 50-60 punches around, and out work him to a decision.
Yup, you hit the nail on the head. Clottey is too defensive and doesn't throw enough. This will only help Miguel win rounds and take a UD.
