Why the hate for Mayweather?

I never really had a dislike for Mayweather as he was coming up to Junior Welterweight. Many of my friends really liked the guy so we would watch his fights. I was impressed by his defense and his ring work when fighting decent fighters like Corrales, and Castillo. I wasn't overwhelmed by his boxing skill in the first Castillo fight in which I felt Castillo narrowly won, but I felt like in the second Castillo fight he did what he had to do to win outright. When he fought Corley I thought he stood up very admirably in crunch time. After he beat Bruseles which really wasn't any competition to him at all I was actually visualizing him going up to face Tszyu. My friends felt he was the best boxer at this time, I felt he really couldn't say this until he stepped into the ring with Kostya. When he picked Gatti over Tszyu I began to suspect a kind of side step. Who really gave Gatti a chance to beat Mayweather? I know I didn't, it was a blatant mismatch. To say Gatti's following garnered more money than Kostya Tszyu at that time was horse shit. This is when I first started to dislike him. He has been doing shit like this ever since. Now even my friends who praised him for many years are turning their back to him because he keeps avoiding "the best" fighters in his own weight division.

How would Mosley-Mayweather draw more than Marquez-Mayweather when Marquez has a whole country behind him? a lot of Mexicans WILL buy the PPV to support Marquez in his biggest fight to date. If Mosley is such a big draw then why wasn't Mosley-Margarito on PPV? and don't say because Margarito is not a draw, when Margarito-Cotto WAS on PPV. Sig this, Mayweather vs Marquez would sell more PPVs than Mosley vs Mayweather. C'mon Bro, Marquez has hardly been on PPV!? Shane has been on PPV more, longer & drawn far far more buys in the fights that he's had. That's not a valid argument. Wouldn't the same be said than that Marg would draw more than Baldo? But Baldo was champ sure, but wait belts don't make Floyd. Ahhh im confused. Mosley is a bigger name in the to the casual fan than Marquez. I"ll base that on the number of PPV buys career was shane has been in, which dwarfs what marquez has been in.

I don't like Floyd for the simple fact that he hasn't fought the best at 147, no other reason. HBO even tried to get him to take on the Cotto-Mosley after the Hatton fight but instead what did he do? Walk away. If at some point he doesn't fight either one of or both of Mosley and Cotto then he is a coward, plain and simple. I like the idea that someone else had with at the end of the year having Mosley vs Mayweather and Cotto vs Pacquiao and then the winners meet to unify things at 147 and we'll finally have someone who we can call the top dog at 147 and an outright P4P Number 1.

So why wasn't Mosley vs Margarito on PPV? I think Mosley is a bigger draw than Marquez, especially now after the beating he gave to Margarito. It's more a fact of Mayweather being a bigger draw than Mosley and Magarito put together.

Diaz was the weakest Champ at 135...you can't argue that. baldomir was one of the weakest champs @ 147 man... ever...

That's not the reason you hate Floyd Its exactly the reason I don't like Floyd. Because there are guys at 135 Manny didn't....but you still love him. Manny had one fight at 135 before moving up. Its not like he's been in the division 3 years without facing the best fighters there. Roach ADMITTED they took the Oscar fight after seeing he couldn't "pull the trigger anymore" at 147...but you LOVE Catchweight Manny. Oscar was the golden goose, no more no less. Its funny you criticize Manny for taking a monster payday, but you will hang from Floyds nuts when he demands 20 mil garuanteed. Pathetic. Pac is NOT fighting the best..He still has unresolved issues with JMM but he PUNK-OUT on the trilogy. He fought the best at 126, 130 and 140 as well as grabbing a trinket on his lone stop at 135. Pacquiao has shown a total willingness to fight the best fighters as he's moved up. You can't say the same about your hero.

Do you consider Hatton-Pacquiao being in the time of economic crisis? I come from a poor family, and my dad still purchased that PPV. So much for economic crisis. It has to do with the two fighters. Like i said before, it takes two. The right fight would sell 2 Mill in any crisis, even if the world stops spinning. Marquez vs Pacquiao did 400k, they were not even half as popular as they are now but they were famous. Imagine now? and imagine when it's vs Mayweather. It's gonna do good numbers...Both Marquez-Mayweather and Pacquiao-Mayweather.It happened during the time when the world wasn't in economic crisis yet.

I have a feeling we'll find out later this year I hope so. I'd consider it a step in the right direction for Floyd. I also think he'd win a UD.
