As Much As I Hate To Say It

Floyd is the new draw in boxing. I think the real gauge is the 24/7 series. Both of his 24/7 series blows the ODLH/PAC, RJJ/Joe, and PAC/HATTON out of the water. Floyd plays the bad guy so well, which helps promote his fights. He will do the same in JMM fight and make Mexico hate him so much, people will buy the ppv just to see JMM try to kill PBF. The boat buyer, as mangler endearingly calls him, in and out of the ring, is the smartest man in boxing.

he needs to sell his fights because he is a boring mofo. That's how smart he is as a promoter. His fights never live up to the hype and yet, we still watch. Plus, his villainous act is a double edge sword. The first is to get everyone upset at him and want to watch him get put in his ass and the 2nd is to get under the opponents skin, which usually always works - ODLH, Hatton and I'm sure he'll get on JMM's skin, as well. He is a skilled Mayorga, if you ask me. But I think Mayorga's fights are more entertaining. Regardless, Floyd has fooled us all, hook, line and sinker. If you're not watching the 24/7 of Floyd/JMM, you're a liar.

im not sold that floyds such a big draw without guys like hatton or de la hoya. well see how the marquez fight does because in both of those other fights he definitely did not have more fans supporting him

Floyd still is the biggest draw and its painfully obvious to anyone who watched Friday night fights yesterday. Espn had the trainer of Manny Pacquiao in studio for the entirety of the show. THe main topic of discussion shouldve been Pacquiao! Both Roach and Kenny spent the majority of the time talking about Mayweather, NOT Pacquiao. Even a 2 year old could've pointed that out.

He is the biggest draw around bar De La Hoya, but it's not fully because everyone wants to see him lose. He has more than his fair share of actual fans too Yeah, and he seems to be getting a pretty good fan base over here in the UK, I think he is beginning to grow on the UK fans... you could tell by the interviews and that, plus the wanting to buy a house over here, wanting to fight over here is starting to make him begin to grow on people. He is popular as ever at the moment and I see his fan base expanding quite a lot.

Not really, the Klitschkos have huge fanbases in Germany. Bigger fanbases than Haye If he was fighting one of his trademark bum fights he wouldn't be selling anywhere near 50,000 tickets.

This is true, though i'd add in David Haye to that mix, he pretty much sold 50,000 tickets by himself for his Wlad fight. Not really, the Klitschkos have huge fanbases in Germany. Bigger fanbases than Haye

Floyd was "the" draw in boxing until Pacquiao destroyed Hatton in two rounds. The casual fans have a new name to follow. Floyd still obviously is a draw on his own and yes he plays the villian better than anyone. But this is Pacquiaos moment. Mayweather is just living in it.
