Pacquiao itching to fight Marquez
By Ronnie Nathanielsz
JUAN Manuel Marquez’s tactic of trying to get under Manny Pacquiao’s skin may be working as the world’s no. 1 pound-for-pound king now wants to settle the score with the Mexican.
Pacquiao’s business manager Eric Pineda told www.insidesports.ph, Standard Today and Viva Sports that the Filipino champion wants to fight Marquez, “to erase any doubt, once and for all.”
Pineda said that in both fights against Marquez, Pacquiao suffered cramps in his legs. “They hurt, since Manny’s power comes from his legs.”
Pineda said Pacquiao doesn’t appreciate the bad-mouthing from the Mexican.
“He wants to hammer Marquez. This time, it will be shorter than the Hatton fight,” said Pineda of Pacman’s TKO win, which ended in 2:59 seconds of the second round. The International Boxing Organization light welterweight champion was knocked senseless with a deadly Pacquiao left hand after being dropped twice in Round 1.
But Pacquiao-Marquez fight may have to wait since the Mexican signed to fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. hours before Pacquiao’s showdown with Ricky Hatton at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in what has been criticized as a cheap attempt to try and steal the thunder from the Pacquiao-Hatton fight.
In his latest statement, quoted by Mark Vester of Boxing Scene, Marquez said his dream is to become the best. “To do that, I have to face the best. Pacquiao doesn’t want anything to do with me, so I decided to fight the best and that is Floyd Mayweather Jr.”
Golden Boy Promotions’ Oscar de la Hoya earlier claimed that no matter what people say, as far as he is concerned, Marquez beat Pacquiao in their two fights.
In their first fight, Pacquiao dropped Marquez three times in Round 1, before the Mexican counter-punched his way to salvage a draw. In the rematch, Pacquiao again dropped Marquez once in Round 3 to win a split decision and grab Marquez’s World Boxing Council super featherweight title.
Pineda said that in both fights against Marquez, Pacquiao suffered cramps in his legs. “They hurt, since Manny’s power comes from his legs.”
:lol1:
So, in his two fights against Marquez, it just happened to be the only time in his career that his legs started hurting eh?
...and the rabid 'Peso' Pacquiao fans are always bitching about Marquez bringing up excuses. This is classic material right here.
Marquez just says he won, he doesn't bring up any other shite. Now Pac has to bring up that his legs hurt? Hold on, wasn't it his socks itching him against Morales, which is the reason he didn't knock him out?
I wonder if his legs were hurting against Singsurat and Torrecampo? Hey Ronnie, go ask if his legs were hurting mate! :fing02:
Edit: No, it was his socks against Marquez the first time and the gloves against Morales! Hmm, now it's his legs cramping both times? I could understand him losing because of the gloves, and the socks itching and then cramping in the second fight, but legs hurting and cramping only against Marquez both times, along with the socks itching him in the first fight as well? Now, that my fellow NSB gents is what you call a coincidence.
it wasn't $10 million.
they offered him as much as pac made fighting a tuneup against diaz!
lol
he doesn't care, really if he's wrong or not
Xcaret/Ferocity/Goblin a.k.a Maestroll USA = :bottle:
Pac is the duckman, and that's all he is!
Who can blame him. He got owned by a washed up Morales, then boxed silly by Marquez twice. He should keep fighting drained washed up fighters if he wants to keep his fanbase.

GBP offered Pac $10 Million for an immediate rematch. Pacquiao and Arum said No... This was before Oscar and Pac was ever thought possible.
Pac said Marquez would have to come up in weight and accept a 80/20 split, and he did, but they STILL ducked him.
Finally, Marquez said FUK you and called out the REAL p4p king, Mayweather!
$5M not 10 you ****in lying ALT!
This is the find that I wanted pac to have before he enters politics. I see marquez going down the canvass for the 5th, 6th and 7th time before saying "no mas" :D
