As far as style matchups (and nothing to do with size), Floyd is the bigger threat to Manny than Cotto and Shane. Cotto and Shane (if the fight were to happen at 147 and not some weight-drained weight) might rip Manny part physically but style-wise, Manny's nemesis would be someone like Floyd. Why not conquer that style to end the debate?
Has Manny gotten better or has he been matched up properly to make him look Godly?
For Floyd, he needs fighters at WW like Cotto and Shane. Even though Oscar probably showed up at 164+ like it was said (although not positive) and has been out-weighed before by the time of the actual fight, his legacy at 147 is nothing much to speak of. Cotto and Shane will help with that.
What I am also interested in, if I am right that Floyd is not at his best, is to see how Floyd responds. True ATG fighters are said to be able to continue to win past their best against good opposition. Ali didn't lose until after his 3 year exile but yet still came out on top with wins against HOF fighters. Louis was past his best and still knocked out Walcott in quicker fashion than the prime Rocky Marciano before Marciano even got to him.
And then we can skip ahead to Shane's victory over Margarito or Hopkins win over Pavlik. OK, Ali might stand out over the others but Magarito, Pavlik and Walcott are solid wins for past prime fighters.
Say what you want but when we review Manny we can always point to his troubles against Morales in that first fight and his two fights against JMM.
And then wonder how he would have done against other fighters of that ilk.
And with Floyd, his resume at 147+
** I am really not sure why Pac wouldn't take this fight against Floyd. I still maintain this would be the perfect time to get Floyd (even though we haven't seen what he is like now) because he hasn't fought up to his standards since about the Mitchell fight which was his first fight at 147. Few will ever point out where he was in his career when/if he lost to Pac so why not take that risk?
I see Pac causing a lot more trouble with Floyd now than he would have if we took the version that was fighting at 130-140.
It probably won't be the same for Floyd vs. Shane because the majority will end up noting where Shane was at in his career, which was past his prime. He still destroyed Margarito though so he can't be all that bad and it seems Pac doesn't want any part of him unless he gives 5 pounds of blood before the match.
So to sum it up:
Pac needs Floyd
Floyd needs Cotto and Shane.
Floyd goes where the money is. Pac Man is his biggest payday. Cotto is his second biggest payout. Your dreaming if you think Mayweather will fight Mosely, that fight wont generate the big bucks that Floyd demands if that was going to happen it would of already. JMM is just a quick and easy tune up.
Cotto and/or Mosley.
Just give me one damn fight :)
Cotto it is. He just has to get by Clottey.

Mr boat buyer destroys Cotto, it's pretty mind-boggling how people don't see this. But the fact that Mr boat buyer refuses to fight him is bad for boxing and for his own career.
Who's Alt are you i wonder lol.

The PAC-EM fight was ages ago in PAC's skill evolution, it shouldnt even be used as a gauge to how he can fare now. And he still improved after the 2nd JMM fight. it's stupid when ppl always say PAC's not all that because he had trouble w/ JMM? that guy is one of the best technicians out there and is p4p#2!
Cuz as long as he don't fight em, he'll be accused of bein a pussy. Especially if lil Pac amkes a play to fight em before he does. Dude's too good a fighter to have his accomplishments shit on over 2 fights he didn't take, especially cuz both fights are winnable for him.
As long as Pac fights them at 147 if he does fight them, I'm cool with that. Fighting drained fighters is still bs.
Do you think Floyd could get them to come down in weight since he will most likely be 149 pounds by fight-time and they will be 160?
How about if he wants a cap for the fight, say, 150 pounds by fight-time; could he get away with it?
If not, any credit points for him being out-weighed by his opponents?
why dose Floyd need Shane or Cotto? just asking i'm not saying that i agree or disagree with you just want to know why he needs them.

Pac don't need Mr boat buyer. But Mr boat buyer does need SSM and Cotto.

Cotto clearly beat Mosley as Floyd clearly beat Oscar. Cotto doesn't need Mosley. That is like saying Floyd needs Oscar.
???
Floyd needs them both or at least one of them; both would be better.
Where did I say Cotto needs Mosley???

And when or if he does, he will lose to one if not both of them at 147. The same weight class he has been fighting at for 4 out of his last 5 fights.
