It’s now official. Unbeaten WBO #1 heavyweight Alexander “Sascha” Dimitrenko (29-0, 19 KOs) will fight in a WBO heavyweight eliminator on July 4 in the huge Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany. Dimitrenko will face the top available contender, WBO #5 rated “Fast” Eddie Chambers (34-1, 18 KOs), who is coming off a win over former WBC heavyweight king Sam Peter. “I’m glad that in our jubilee year we can offer this great fight between two world heavyweight championship candidates in Hamburg, our boxing hometown,” said Universum-Promoter Klaus-Peter Kohl. “This is really a duel between two heavyweights of the absolute top class!”
I hope HBO or showtime pick this fight up. 2 top contenders putting all up on the line it doesnt get any better then that..
honestly I was somewhat suprised that Eddie beat Peter but I guess the result was fair because Peter came into the fight in the worst shape of his carreer and faught like he just didint care if he lost
But then we would have to listen to Teddy Atlas bash and discredit Dimitrenko! :(
What would be better is if HBO or Showtime carries it. I think there's a real chance Setanta will show it.
ye setanta will but the setanta I get here just shows soccer and rugby and replays of steve bunce boxing hour, I love the soccer they show but I dont get any boxing events at all I dont know how to get it?
Finally Dimitrenko lands a good meaningful fight. I've been waiting forever for this. Dimitrenko will win by a late TKO and will become a mandatory for Wlad. I predict a very tough fight for Wlad. By the way, I'm willing to bet up to 1 mil on Dimitrenko.
Very interesting fight here. This is a real pick em fight. Chambers is on a great run, having won his last 4 bouts including a win over former Champion Samuel Peter. Chambers only defeat came against Alexander Povetkin. Chambers holds wins over fighters like Ross Puritty, Dominick Guinn, Calvin Brock and Samuel Peter.
Chambers is very fast handed for a heavyweight and his best weapon is a shapr accurate jab.
As for Alexander Dimitrenko, alot of the boxing world have a high opinion of him and he is impressing. He's now 29-0 with 19 ko's, and he beat fighters like Luan Krasniqi, and Timo Hoffmann. Dimitrenko feels like he is avoided, but this a real step up for him and one that should answer a few questions about him.
Should be a very interesting fight........
