AHHHHHHH Ike Williams vs Bo Jackson I remember seeing this vid the day it came out on youtube. See that is different he could LITERALLY kill the guy in that position, so it's totally understandable you would ask the ref to stop it.
this is a sport that comes from mans animal instinct, its a fight, it goes as long as it is allowed, i would go for it, hopefully he will just go down and that will be that, but all i can do is hope.
I would like to think that I would. But in the heat of the moment, I might smell blood and go for the kill. I guess what I'm trying to say is. I have no ****ing idea.
Man just listen to what Judah said in the postfight interview on this one. I remember him saying he saw Spinks' eyes rolling around in his head. He said he wasn't trying to kill the guy. If you saw his eyes, maybe all you would think differently. Because normally Judah goes for the kill, but this time he didn't.
Judah and Spinks are friends. They went to each other's weddings.
He knew Spinks was on queer street.
It's just a sport.
He already knew he won.
Yes, different situation; agree.
Lesson: Don't become friends with any possible future opponent. Wait until you've retired to reach out.
I would, but I'm not a hardman, I eat houmous and like fine cheeses.
I ain't laying somebody out if I have them all over the place, you need ice running through your veins for that.
Even when Haye let fly with another two punches when Maccarinelli was on the way down I felt bad for Macca.
if you respect your opponent, you wuld want to beat him (win), not destroy him
I just watched that Hatton fight again and made up my mind: Pac wouldn't give you the gesture to save you so I would knock him dead. That is boxing; that is a fight; that is the nature of the beast. And Pac roles with Roach so his ways need a smack back (even though I've tried to justify it).
I've always figured anyway, even though it is a sport, and you shake hands, one can think it is disrespect (to you) that this "opponent" has the audacity to challenge you. A Challenge is a Threat and a Threat needs to be Stopped.
It's all about how you want to think and one way is better than the other in a fight.
But then again, who knows. I think adrenaline might take over though and since he wouldn't do the same for you, you would most likely take him out. He is to dangerous not to and if there is a rematch, you want to hurt him so bad in the first match that he will not be the same for the rematch both mentally and physically. Never leave a wounded Man time to recover and come back another day to kill you. Knock him down and finish him off with a stab to the heart.
I remember watching that fight live. Before the match, Bernstein and Spinks were walking through some alley in St. Louis. Bernstein asked him I remember..." Cory, are you looking forward to defending the title in your hometown?" ...Spinks, who is an amazing pure boxer and has a great jab, replied with a phrase I'll never forget. "Ummmmm, it will ummmm be great to, ummmm defend my ummmm title in my hometown" ...he said Ummmm so many ****ing times. When Judah turned it on against him, that interview flashed in my head when Judah landed that first shot that I knew he wouldn't recover from. After that shot lands and he puts him down look at Spinks reply to the ref. To me, when the ref said, wanna fight? Spinks almost looked like he was saying, "sorta."
The thing I really love about that knockout is, it's rare when you can see a big puncher really throw a shot with all his strength, and unfortunately Judah missed with the most powerful shot he threw...But look at the video , after the second knockdown. Watch how Judah approaches, shifts his weight and throws everything he has into that lead left hook. ****ing brutal. That, was a killer punch. You can just tell what Judah was thinking...he wanted to erase Spinks with one big shot, haha...lol Judah;~)
It would depend on who I was hitting. If it was Joe Calzaghe I would wind up some big blows while he was out.
If you did that Rick James would have come out of nowhere and slap you right in the face! "We slappers stay together, you hit one you hit us all! :P"
No mercy in boxing. You gotta do what you gotta do. Nobody should be lookin to maim other fighters, but if the ref ain't stoppin it, it's fair game. KO your guy.
but if it was Froch, you would be layed out in the corner.
Am pretty sure David Haye isnt pulling a Judah, The bastard would lay you the phuck out ..lol, Its KO or be brutally KO for Haye.
