I've heard all sort of stuff on here about how Dawson is a joke because he can't sell out a 2000 seat arena. The reason the fight didn't sell out IMO is because no one wants to see this fight! Last time round you'd be lucky if you could give Tarver 2 rounds. Dawson completely outclassed and out boxed Tarver! There's no reason for the rematch other than the fact that it was in the contract! It's going to be more of the same this time round and everybody except Tarver knows it and that's why there is a lack of interest in the fight. I just hope Dawson finishes the job this time and KO's Tarver! Just had to get that off my chest.
They don't call him the Road Warrior for nothing! Just ask Calzaghe who Johnson is. Joe might get injured just thinking about him.
tell him deafcon
Why fight a guy you beat soundly in a bore-fest yet not re-match a guy you had a war with and many thought you lost?
:boxing: ^^^ this....
u know tarver doestn deserve shi t.... dan.... that f u cking one hit wonder.. damn.. i hate him so much :lol1:

Rematch clause. It was not up to Dawson. I keep saying this everytime it comes up, I'm going to sig it the next time.
I would've preferred the Johnson rematch too, but Tarver had the belt and had the rematch clause, Johnson did not.
Dawson already gave Johnson a chance, he failed. He fought well and won some rounds big, but Dawson won more rounds and won the fight.
The sympathy for Glenn Johnson on this forum is almost funny to me.

imo.. cos both of them sucks @ entertainin...
and both dont want to give the road warrior a chance to beat their asses

Johnson at this point is the draw imo i think its most likely to sell out there.
It would sell out in Connecticut. Plus Dawson already went down there. It's only fair. Johnson wants to prove it so bad, come out of your backyard and prove it. He's done it all his career, so what's the problem?
It's not like Florida is some boxing mecca anyway. Clearly they have more fighters than CT does, but in terms of venues for boxing CT is just as good.
Tarver didnt have any speed to consistently get to Dawson in the first fight, he was way behind on everything, i expect this rematch to be even worse, this fight is a joke.
Rematch Johnson in Miami.
Fans know crap when the see it. TBH if i lived in Vegas i would go and watch the fight i mean $20 for a boxing fan is nothing to see a talented up n comer like Chad.
Why in Miami? The first fight was already in Florida, which is why the fans booed the decision so badly, and it's partly why people complain about the fight so much.
The rematch should be in Connecticut.
The fact that you compared an up and coming fighter like Dawson to an establish champion proves how biased you are. Joe has been champion for over 11 years FFS.
Those aren't comparable situations.
1. You're comparing an up and comer to an established chamion who has been relevant for over a decade.
2. This is America, we don't immediately support fighters because they are American. Wales doesn't have to many boxing stars and they are a small country, so of course Calzaghe is popular and can draw a lot. Las Vegas is almost 3000 miles from Connecticut. Can Joe Calzaghe sell 25,000 against Tarver 3000 miles from Wales? I think not.
Co-sign both of these!
If Calzaghe was fighting Tarver in Wales, how many tickets would be sold?
Probably at least 25,000, just because of Joe's popularity.

They picked the wrong venue. They should have done it in Connecticut where Dawson has more fans. Those two casinos are good venues and would've filled up for sure.

Only reason this fight hasn't sold out is because no one wants to see it.
The first fight was a clear decision for Dawson, everyone knows it will end pretty much the same.
