The one true answer, is that there is no clear answer. You first have to look what we have. Clearly Money outclasses JMM in just about physical stats. Reach, Height, Weight, and speed. Yet clearly Juan is blazing, with his two recent K.O. victories over respectable fighters. While Floyd will suffer, from Ring Rust. Making weight wont be much of problem for either. (which is why JMM camp should have pushed for a legit 140 ibs match).
How does a counter puncher, breach a shell like defense?
How does, a baiter catch a slickster? Juan is not a stalker, or a pressure fighter. He is a counter puncher, that baits you with a fait to land combinations. While the other sticks and moves.
The answer is improve. To think that Juan is a pure, Counter Puncher would be foolish. True; Counter Punching is his specialty, but he is a tactical boxer/puncher.
Improve and adjust. If Floyd attempts lead with reach, adjust to infighting and aim head/body combination.
If Floyd attempts to shoulder roll, fait to provoke a shoulder roll and connect a leading right hook.
If Floyd gets on his bike, and attempts to pot shot. Taunt him, call it out, make gestures, so the judges and the crowd see he is pulling a circus act. Its pointless to chase simply chase him.
If he comes in as the aggressor, time the combinations, to punish his mistakes.
The point is, improve, improve, improve. Floyd is a vary knowledgeable fighter, but Juan is the most experienced.
I think the key to beat PBF is to ruff him up get him out of his game plan fight dirty ,cut him but accidental head butt, apply pressure and corner him also PBF freezes up or keeps his hand high when being jabed at...as though he doesnt know what to do when being jabed at so... JAB JAB JAB , RIGHT HOOK ECT...I've said it before in other post PBF is going to be surprised by JMM inteligence and boxing skills and his precise and effective punches MONEY MAYWEATER is in it for the money MARQUEZ is in it for the glory
Short of training and sparring with the Creme de la Creme himself,
he can only do what he does best, and that is try and get close enough to open up with combos, then try to outland Mr. Sinclaire to garner a split decision.
Floyd might just show everyone how to really beat Marquez.
If, as many say, Marquez is only in it for one last big payday, it's possible the ref stops the fight or his corner throws in the towel.
hmmmm
Well most people would say apply pressure, but Floyd can be outboxed. Not easy, but it's possible. Zab Judah was outboxing him for the first couple of rounds of their fight in my opinion. Zab just broke down like he always does once Floyd started figuring him out. Also credit to Floyd for figuring Judah out and making adjustments to win the fight. That's what makes him such a great boxer.
Marquez is a very smart fighter, I think possibly as smart as Mayweather. Mayweather is just bigger, stronger, and faster. I would say Marquez has more heart and desire to win.
Marquez needs to box with Floyd a little bit and see how that goes. Floyd has basically resorted to just pot shotting his opponents lately in his career. Marquez needs to time the pot shots and try to land counters when Floyd is on his way in (like Judah did when he scored the knockdown that wasn't ruled a knockdown). Mayweather likes that right hands lead a lot, Marquez needs to neutralize it. You ca slip the right and throw your own at the same time or counter it with a left hook.
Marquez also has to apply SMART pressure, not wreckless like Hatton. When he gets in he needs to rip Mayweather with bodyshots.
He needs to do a mixture of boxing and applying pressure and see which works better.
As I said before, Marquez is a smart fighter and will know what he needs to do once he's in there for a little while. He will be able to tell whether he should move and box or apply pressure.
Marquez could win this, it's possible.
I like your analysis sir! You brought up some good points! :boxing:
Dudes are always tryin to KO Mr boat buyer by targetin the head. And it's easier to reach out and throw to the head and not be countered as opposed to reachin out to get the body. And I say reachin cuz Mr boat buyer ain't a stationary target who stands in front of guys. Only way to get to his body is to trap him in corners or against the ropes. Even then he still counters well, and most guys wit any opponent on the ropes just instinctively flail to the head anyway.
You hit the nail on the head. Its seems like all the big punchers that he has fought wanted to knock him out with head shots and they were unsuccessful. I think that since Floyd can adjust to just about any fighter, fighters have to try to adjust to what he is doing. What I mean is, once their plan isn't working, its like they don't resort to something else. You know? Like Hatton. I felt like since he could get that big KO to the head, he NEVER sat down and went to the body. Can JMM make adjustments during the fight if the first strategy doesn't work?
i think floyd will be leading, and marquez will have some nice counters.but in the end, floyd will probably try to just flat out knock him out like he did mitchell.
one thing i notice about floyd is, he gets in the habit of sticking his head out to lure his opponent in only to avoid the blow and counter.in the baldo fight he did that exact thing, only baldo fainted the jab and came back with a right hand and caught floyd.marquez is a decent fainter and he's going to have to work that alot.then shoot for the stars, f it.
ok..why don't u think Floyd's opponents have never really went to the body against him?

y do think that Floyd's opponents never really went downstairs against him?
Floyd defends his body very well...and counters just as good. That's why. But I also believe a body attack is key to beating him.
strong jab
push the action without leaving himself open
when Mayweather lies on the ropes throw flashy looking combos to catch the judges' eyes
place those nice hooks under Floyd's ribs
maintain it for 12 rounds

JMM is my boy, but I don't see what he can do to win against a bigger, stronger, faster guy. The key to anybody beatin Mr boat buyer imo is outworkin him. Sustain a strong flow of punches against him, preferably by cornering him so he can't use his footwork. Body punchin is key. But JMM is too fukkin small to make this plan stick for a full 12 rds imo. I'll be rootin for him all the way, but his heart is too big for his own good on this one.
