On the stool, after the 1st Round, the first person Ricky looks at is Lee Beard and looks annoyed at the sound of Mayweather's voice.
After 12 weeks of prep where I'm sure Mayweather ingrained head movement, a good jab and smart pressure, Ricky throws everything out the window to fight Manny senselessly.
Ricky went back to his old ways, so far back, it looked like he was looking for a familiar voice in the corner, perharps Billy Graham's. Watch the end of the 1st round.
I think Mayweather Sr. did his job and Ricky owes him an apology.
Sr. owes Hatton an apology for being such a lousy trainer. if he expected Hatton to be able to magically be able to box great, it was a fail idea, and made Hatton get his ass kicked worse than ever.
and Hatton owes Graham an apology for dumping him and taking away any chance he had in the fight because of that.
Finally!
Someone with a bit of sense.

Big Floyd gave him good advice in the corner, and I'm SURE that there was a game-plan that Hatton did not follow. There's no way Floyd said to him "Aight man... Stumble yo ass out deh' wit' that half step bo-sh*t you do an keep yo hand by yo nipples with this man. He lil azz hell man. man aint got no powah"
hahahahah
Neither Hatton nor Floyd knew what the **** they were talking about. One minute it was "be smart, move your head, jab your way in, keep your hands up" and before this it was "keep the pressure on, rough him up, get inside and destroy him with body shots".
Unprofessional isn't even the word. These guys just don't know what they are doing.
Did you watch the same damn fight. Go back and watch that shyt again. Snr clearly told Hatton to keeps his hands up, move his head, and NOT to try and overpower Pacquaio. He, said, "don't try and overpower him, you can't do that to him." What did Hatton do, the exact opposite. He even clearly said, "You should have listened to me from the jump." It's as if Hatton totally forgot what he learned. Anyway, Snr was very unprofessional in other areas, no one can argue against that. He did give sound advice in the corner though.
**** Floyd Sr. He was late to the fight and didnt even walk with Ricky to the ring.
Ricky doesnt owe him shit.
Floyd needs to apologize for being such an unprofessional prick.
I used to like Floyd Snr. but it seems that the man is merely a pompous moron who cares not one bit about his fighters.
That doesn't excuse Ricky's performance though.

Mayweather Sr. wouldn't care if he apologizes or not, he still got paid for working with him.
I hate to say this, but it is actually Floyd Snr. who owes Hatton an apology.
When you are being paid MILLIONS of dollars just to train somebody you should at least arrive on time for some of the training sessions.
Also, I was incredulous when I learnt that Floyd Snr. did not arrive at the arena on Saturday night until 25 minutes before the fight!
Hatton would have been better off with Billy Graham.
Floyd Sr. was trying to turn Hatton into a smart boxer. He can never be one. Floyd Sr. should have known this. Even "joke coach" Roach knew. Now the joke is on Floyd Sr. OWNED!
I disagree with that. Hatton needed a new trainer! The problem was, is that Hatton left it too late in his career to ditch Graham.
Ricky showed a lack of professionalism and messed up big time in the ring. Floyd however has his share of responsibility in what went wrong. They should've apologized to each other but I don't see that happening.
Having said that, I actually think Ricky should stick with Floyd if he is to fight again provided they come to an understanding and reconcile their differences. They are an odd pairing but when they're on good terms they have a great chemistry as we saw on the 24/7 series. People forget that Hatton spent his whole career with one trainer who was also his best mate and he only just had his 2nd fight with Floyd. One turned out good and the other bad. In my opinion, they should've done a couple of fights with lesser opponents before taking on someone like Pacman. This would've given them a chance to develop more trust of each other in fights. Of course hindsight is always 20/20.
There is probably a better chance of Mayweather returning to Top Rank than Floyd Sr and Hatton working together again. It was a bad idea to begin with and that bridge is now burned behind both of them.

well hatton needs to learn the basics. He did nothing that he was told to do! He basically was fighting and banking on the fact he was bigger. He didn't setup nopunches...he was throwing bombs from the hip....it was stupidest execution ever!
yeah, hatton put the house on the fact that he was the bigger guy
floyd told hatton what any trainer would have told him. Keep your hands up, move your head, etc. Ffs, this is boxing basics!

Hatton owes Floyd Sr nothing except for the fee that they agreed on. Mayweather constantly being late and not walking back to the locker room with his fighter was highly unprofessional.
Snr gave Hatton excellent advice. He said, "You should have listened to me from day one, keep your hands up and move your damn head." He also told Hatton, "stop trying to overpower him, you can't do that with him". Hatton didn't imply any of his trainers advice at all. He came out in the 2nd round and tried to overpower him again. Hatton continued to keep his hands low with no head movement. As a result, he got KTFO. We all know Snr has diarrhea of the mouth, he can't seem to quit talkin shyt. Aside from that, he was very unprofessional by not being punctual for his fighter. He did however, give Hatton sound advice in the corner.

yeah, I could've told hatton that
but the moment Hatton got in there with Pacquiao and realized, FIRSTHAND, what kind of speed he was dealing with, he panicked....
Totally agree. It's like Oscar said, some of the first punches Pacquiao threw made him dazed. Pacquiao's power makes people stupid. Hatton panicked and lost the plot. I love it when people underestimate Manny.
