Buffer ****ed up by saying that these two were cemented HOF fighters
Hatton has been exposed since the Collazo fight and he has not only come up short in the biggest fights but had his ass waxedddddddddddd in booth.
That is not the mark of a HOF
So being popular is simply the key to the HoF. Shit, somebody get Tye Fields' ticket ready since he'll be a shoe in from our comments alone.
If it's purely based on things like that are we throwing in Gatti, Ward, or Augustus? Shit, they're entertaining and fans love 'em.
exactly. from a boxing stand point he does not deserve to be in the HOF. popularity votes shouldnt count. yea he was a champ for yrs but from a boxing stand point who has he fought and beaten. and look at the fighters he did beat and where they were at at that point of there careers. i been telling people for almost 9 yrs that this guy is overratted
Hatton is a hall of famer easy. His accomplishments make him a shoe in. He is a 2 division champion and held the lineal championship for a good number of defenses. In the end you have to look at the w and L column. Who he beat minus your own personal feelings you may have about it.
He was more than a paper title holder.
Ricky was champion at 140 for four years.
And he captured the hearts of his fans as much as anyone ever has, having about 50,000 come over for the Floyd fight and 30,000 come to Vegas for the Pacquiao fight, even though they knew there were no tickets available. If that isn't "fame" then what is? :)

Tunney...the argument you're making is totally beneath you. Come on, man.
Like Barry Mcguigan? :lol1:
At least his mustache amused me. The Modern day HoF has a few weak links, but that doesn't suddenly mean we should put in more of them.
I wouldn't be surprised if Hatton got in but I'm not sure I'd vote for him. I'd have to think real long and hard about it. Yes he beat Tszyu but if that was the decider then I'd probably have to put Ricardo Mayorga/Vernon Forrest in the HOF as well. One win doesn't cut it. You don't get bonus points for losing to good fighters either.
I'm not sure about Hatton. I keep hearing yes, he's a HOF'er but why? Because he was a champ? There have plenty of those.
Honestly, if Hatton gets in where do we draw the line? Suddenly everybody whose ever held a title or two gets in? It should be reserved for, oh, I don't know, great fighters.

Agreed... not a diss to Hatton, but he isnt a Hall of famer.... he just isn't.
Only an irrational hater would deny that Ricky Hatton belongs in the HOF.

# Hatton beat an old Tszyu who quit on the stool and Hatton had the advantage of a ref that was more than favorable to his style.
# Stepped up in weight to Welterweight to almost lose to Luis Collazo.
# Beating an old, bad Castillo
# Losing to Mayweather.
# Getting rocked by Lazcano and arguably having the ref save you.
# Beating the lightest puncher of all time.
# Embarrassed by Pacquiao.
THANK YOU!!!!! ENOUGH SAID. finally someone see's the same points i pointed out in previous hatton chats. hahah

Hes a hall of famer.
bullshit..hattons going to the hall of fame..he lost 2 times both to the p4p#1 fighters..dude is a hofer
So...you go to the HOF when you lose to a HOF'er? Just curious.
ricky hatton was exposed in the collazo fight. he cant take a punch and isnt comfortable getting hit so thats why he smothers on the inside. he is not a HOF. he came to america and fought the 2 best P4P in the world and lost. just beacause he fought them makes him a HOF. NO!!!! he aint even the best fighter in england. fight junior witter in england for your farewell fight and call it a day. then maybe he will be a HOF IN ENGLAND BUT NEVER A HOF IN AMERICA
