I had never seen so much POSITIVE shine on Boxing in recent times.
On my way from San Antonio to Austin today, BigBoy (national radio show http://radiobigboy.com/) was nuttin all over the Hatton/Pacquiao fight. He spent a good 10 minutes talking about the fight (would talk about what happened, play a song, then talk some more, play a song, then talk some more), the possibility of Pacquiao/Mayweather and Mayweather/JMM. He also said he was more than happy to see Hatton's mom cry. He felt they were incredibly arrogant in regards to Hatton's undefeated record in the 24/7 when it was against Mayweather.
I saw the fight in Brownsville, tx at my cousin's house. He had 16 people over for the fight. Every bar was broadcasting the fight and PACKED. Everywhere I went, restaurants, department stores etc, I could hear talk of the fight and how much of a beast Pacquiao is.
Pacquiao is being covered by gossip sites, news magazines, CNN even. Local newspapers have the fight results on the FRONT page. ESPN is LOVING Pacquiao right now. People are loving boxing right now. Just hope the networks and promoters dont **** it up.
I've never seen this many casual fans rant and rave over a fight. Not to mention the networks. I sincerely hope Bob Arum's grudge and Money May's pride don't deter this fight from happening. We are looking at the next Ali-Frazier if all goes according to plan.
not single handed, de la hoya played a big role in all this
No he didn't.
He planned the exact opposite, and that is to destroy Manny.
Unfortunately for him, and fortunately for us, it backfired.
No-one can singlehandedly bring boxing back to the mainstream especially a fighter who isnt a Heavyweight, Ali and Tyson did that but thats because they were both HW and the HW are the pinnacle of the sport of boxing.
Yes this victory helps boxing alot but so has the other boxers who has been fighting in the last 2 years or so, Saying pacman single-handedly is disrespectful to the boxers of the last few years.
everybody noticed it on his thread but only floyd fans, xcaret, maestrousa and dino who played dumb about his agenda!
What agenda was that? I gave Manny props...but he aint top 10-30 all time...
Thank you pacman 4 saving boxing. You got espn on your nuts now so thats a big plus. And thank you 4 fighting the best fighters available and not retiring after beating oscar and hatton like the last p4p coward!
Pacquiao is higher ATG than FLoyd Period. Floyd should be like number 45 ATG amd Paquiao like 23 ATG and counting.
Cotto will stop his streak on devember tho.
I will have to agree here!!!!!!!!!!!!
I DIDN'T SAY HE WASN'T HIGHER THAN FLOYD BUT HE AINT TOP 10-30. Fukk that...
and the general public isn't missing him.
They have their new star,
his name is,
Manny Pacquiao.
Much props to Pac but the public has been missing Mayweather. You can't go to any site without he being mentioned. He was missed big time. Like it or not his return is a positive for the sport
When Floyd stood in front of Baldomir, he still couldn't do shit. Just give up. U lost this argument. Just wait for Pac-Mayweather before u start talkin shit again...
oh i still believe bert sugar over an anonymous internet thug.

oh shit you beat me. you keeping score on arguments won? whats your score after this?
The general public doesn't give a shit about boxing. If anybody is talking about Manny Pacquiao on ESPN next Monday, I will have this account banned.
The general public might not care much about boxing but boxing would benefit with any increased interest from the general public.
Although it is an exaggeration to say that Pacquiao is single handedly bringing back boxing to the mainstream, there is no denying that he is doing a great job to help bolster interest into the sport.
mayweather ran. a lot.

I don't hate Cotto, I enjoy watching him fight but if u wanna throw shots I'll throw some back. He fought a stupid fight and lost to some1 who had no right beating him.
this statement is right on the button

what shots did I throw? Floyd being a 12 round fighter? Is that not true and how is that a shot? what shots?
