Once a defensive fighter always a defensive fighter. Even Wink was able to block off some of Williams attack. Hop rarely gets hit as well.
What makes you think Mayweather will all of a sudden get hit with monster power shots like Hatton?
If Pac were to beat Mayweather it would be off of activity. Floyd is quality fighter and wouldn't get hit nearly as much.
c'mon floyd fans, give pac some credit... that way when floyd beats pac, floyd actually get credit for doing it.
lol, Thats what i was thinking Mayweather fans shouldnt argue it, They should all agree that pacman would KO Mayweather because when the fight happens and Mayweather wins easily then it would great for him.
This fight would disappoint alot of people that really want to see Mayweather lose, JMM has more chance of beating Mayweather than pacman.
I saw enough in 2 rounds to know that pacman would fight Mayweather the same way he fought Hatton.................Easy Mayweather UD or TKO 11 roound
Before Floyd announced his comeback.Roach said Floyd was too skilful and would make for a boring fight.
This fight wont even be competitive,it will be a beatdown.Manny will be KOed,he better fight people like Cotto and not Floyd
c'mon floyd fans, give pac some credit... that way when floyd beats pac, floyd actually get credit for doing it.
I want to see how good Mayweather performs in the JMM fight first. I think that Manny and Floyd would make an excellent fight a much more competitive match than Hatton/Pac.
I think that Floyd could beat Manny and Manny could beat Floyd, depending on who has the better night. I think Floyd will naturally be bigger and maybe stronger but Manny will have the speed by a little. I think that Floyd is good at seeing how a guy throws a punch and setting the guy up for counters. Pacman throws too many punches and from different angles, so it will be hard to set up a plan and think "down the road" while simultaneously trying to not be hit with a barrage of punches.
Pac will go in and throw a combo consisting of multiple punches (at least 4 or more) and move back out. I could see if he was just standing there in front of Mayweather throwing punches the whole round that he could counter well with an uppercut or something but I don't think he will stand there.
Floyd throws a quick right and has a sharp left hook which will make it hard for Manny to duck. I just think Pac will out work him with volume and make it hard for Floyd to fight a patient fight and throw him off mentally and frustrate him.
I just think it will be a better fight now given where Floyd is possibly at. If this was the Floyd that fought below 147 and when he was active, forget it...Floyd would win.
But like I pointed out before, given all that has happened and where Floyd might be at this stage of his career, it will force him to win while possibly being declined which is said to be where "Great" fighters make their mark. I really want to see him pushed and made uncomfortable. He was before but that was long ago in the lower weight divisions at his absolute best.
If he wins, it will show that he can still win as he slowly declines. But if he does win...I want to see him back in the ring with Cotto or a WW unless he retires but the L.A. Times article indicated that he is going to fight 3x a year. Maybe he really does need the money unless he is trying to set a legacy and understands activity is key for a fighter's success.
The only thing I don't want to see is the demand that Floyd comes down to far in weight. I would prefer it to be at 147 with possibly a "cap" on the fight-time weight of 149. This will let both fighters make weight easier on the scales and show up healthy.
Although it would be interesting to see where Floyd is at physically since I wonder if he still will show up under 150 for his fights or will he take off the water weight and put it back on 10+ pounds like others do if his body has grown some.
LINK me to that article please.
Pacquiao has the ablity to give floyd serious problems early on, but anyhow floyd works him out, pac could end up getting hurt. The lunging in with leads in particular is something in particular that could really allow mayweather to capitalize on him.
I can see pac taking the majority of the early rounds, if floyd can time him coming in, he might not go 12.
Fair enough that's a good thought about the Judah part, but Pacquiao also had troubles with a counter puncher in Marquez, Floyd is a better counter puncher and is harder to hit. Goes two ways, would be a great fight though...

lmao.....JMM boxed the shit out of him for 2 fights and as recently as 3 fights ago. Mayweather is bigger, stronger, faster, more inteliigent, accurate, and better in every single way. Mayweather is no DLH or HAtton.
Thats JMM not Mayweather.
I would argue that Pacquaio is faster and more powerful than Mayweather. In my opinion, Mayweather has never, ever fought anybody near the quality of Pacquaio. Just as Pacquaio, has never fought anybody with the quality of Mayweather. But I believe skilled, pressure fighters like Marquez will always present more trouble for Manny, than skilled, counter punchers.
So anyway, what are the betting odds that Roach will force Floyd to wear "Reyes" gloves instead of "Winning" and also make sure his wraps are wrapped a certain way?
Mayweather was wearing Reyes for Hatton, no?
For sure, it would be a close fight.
To answer the question? No, Pac won't be able to hit Floyd too consistently. If Pac wins, he would win by punch output, and most likely decision. I just can't see Floyd getting hit with anything big like Hatton did.
But also, I don't see Floyd being able to potshot Manny like he does against everybody else. Pac has great head movement and he's also just as quick as Floyd. Plus the fact that he always throws in lightning fast combinations, you can't counterpunch in between those combinations. When Manny throws like that, a few will get in. Plus the fact that Manny's not only a volume puncher, but an accurate volume puncher.
I can't believe some of you guys are dismissing Pac's chances. I saw the JMM fights but Pac doesn't have to fight Floyd like he did JMM. One thing that would concern me if I were Pac/Roach with the countering and maybe even if Floyd decides to attack is that Floyd has a 72 inch reach. I swear Floyd can tie his shoes standing up.
So if Pac comes jumping in, Floyd can jump back and still hit Pac coming in.
But this is where I say "timing" with Pac will be key since I do think it has gotten better as well as his arsenal of punches now. Plus, he doesn't quite lean in with his head to much like he used to or as sloppy. He still isn't precise, but he isn't what I would call sloppy anymore. He can still get wild but even so, it's still a danger to try to pick him off. Maybe Floyd can do this but I would like to know for sure.
And then where is Floyd mentally?
What if Pac keeps attacking and that retirement mindset Floyd had going into retirement after he defeated Hatton picks back up?
Does Floyd want to win or is he doing it just to pay back bills?
Another question I would like answered.
People do change and have different mind-sets through life. Where is Floyds?
I know where Pac's is.
All this makes it interesting to me and why I would watch this fight.
I actually didn't see the Judah fight live because I didn't care. Why? becausee I knew Judah would eventually break down mentally because the odds favored that. True, he sometimes can turn back the clock Pre-Tszyu version and stay on a high level, but the odds weren't in his favor agaisnt Floyd. I did eventually see the fight when I was bored.
Good post. Im waiting to see how he does against Marquez on July 18th.
Weight in this fight wont be an issue, thats one thing im glad of. No weight excuses.
So anyway, what are the betting odds that Roach will force Floyd to wear "Reyes" gloves instead of "Winning" and also make sure his wraps are wrapped a certain way?
If Judah was able to land on Floyd early on,
I don't see Manny having any problems whatsoever.
Roach is ten times the trainer Yoel is and will develop a solid game plan.
Floyd won't take the fight though.
Pacs danger meter just shot through the roof.
Fair enough that's a good thought about the Judah part, but Pacquiao also had troubles with a counter puncher in Marquez, Floyd is a better counter puncher and is harder to hit. Goes two ways, would be a great fight though...
To be honest, I think Mayweather will get beaten for 12 rounds, and Pacquaio might even force a late stoppage. He is something else right now, which I have never seen the like of.
