Lately for some reason, everytime weve had a spot where something was best for boxing, it never worked out that way. The latest was Cotto losing to Margarito. We cannot allow Pac to lose this fight. His win is super huge for boxing. Hatton is not a bad guy but no doubt a win by him will set boxing back. Hatton fans have to bite the bullet and admit that its best for the sport for there man to lose so tell your boy Ricky to throw the fight
IDK man, I kind of think Cotto is a horrible matchup for Hatton. I think he beats Hatton to a blood pulp
I think it would be a good fight, Hatton could hurt Coto.
You don't honestly think Pacman would just fade away after a loss, do you?
Not sure where the idea that a loss makes a fighter less than he was before came from. In many cases, it can be the best forge in which to temper a fighter's character, heart and will. Many have come back from a big upset loss to rule their division, and become a public icon...I'm sure you can think of several who fit this description.
And can you imagine the PPV buys for the rematch? Come on, buddy, you know you're wrong.
Its about the fan fare. Sure Pac could come back as a boxer but it would take him a long time to get the fan fare back and thats the main thing. No one would want to see him fight Floyd, Cotto, Shane, and if he fights guys like Valero, JMM, and Campbell then they would just be solid fights and not super fights. Then you have Hatton but who is he really going to fight? He has no real chance to beat the WW's and there are no super stars at 140. What about Floyd beating JMM? If that happened then who wants to see JMM-Pac trilogy with both of them coming off a loss? It would be kind of bad in that sense. It would be a 2nd rate fight at that point and the loser will be pretty much done in everyone's eye's and the winner would have a ceiling. Hatton has a ceiling right now, thats why its not good that he wins
sure thats great if youre just looking at it as a single fight but its not great for the future of boxing because Pac can make things way more exciting then Ricky

hatton vs. cotto is amongst the 'sexiest' fights to me

Sorry pal, you're making no sense at all. ANY big upset (and to the general public this would be one of the biggest imaginable) is great for boxing in all ways. Think of the rematch talks, the fans all going batshit crazy, and the huge ****ing money it'd make for everyone, not to mention the publicity generated even in the general media from something like this.
You've got it completely backwards, friend. A Hatton win would be best for boxing.

Yes but even if its not Floyd, Pac is just the sexiest guy in boxing besides Floyd. Any matchup right now with Pac is a sexy matchup wether he fights Floyd, JMM, Cotto, Mosley, Margarito, Campbell, Bradley, Kahn, Valero, and so on. Those matchups just arent the same with Hatton. Hatton vs JMM or Valero could be interesting but I dont really want to see any other fight with Hatton
millions of other people do though.
Anyway, both fighters say they won't fight much longer.
i'm assuming the reason he means this is best for boxing is because it will set up what would potentially be the largest super fight in history, a super match between floyd and pacman later on in the year.
