It has been very relaxing for team Cotto just to focus directly on the work at hand. Cotto continues to spar hard and look sharp.
Cotto has not cracked a smile yet, however it is clear that you can see the relaxation and clear determination in Cotto’s face in camp. We will have more updates on Cotto camp shortly.
nope, didn't see it...but i can see the points you all make and i wouldn't be shocked if it played out that way, but I'm just curious if Cotto's really ready to face someone at the level yet...i hope he comes back like he was prior to that MArgarito fight but i'm still iffy =/
thats a legitimate point, If Cotto can control the fight with his jab and movement the fight is in the bag. Clottey would have to add volume punching to his good D and durability to truly have a shot, dont get me wrong he has a shot at winning I just dont see it happenin.
Yeah, but i'm curious how he's gonna take it when Clottey just keeps coming and coming after Cotto dishes out what he dishes....that is, if he is still coming after Cotto lets loose
what fight have you seen that clottey keeps coming??
in the judah fight he barely dominated judah.
margarito he was just standing there
If I win my Hatton bets, I'm gonna bet some more points on Clottey. Clottey got this, he's training hard in Ghana fighting with Lions, Tigers, Bears Oh my!
I take it you didn't see the Gerry Penosola Vs Juanma Lopez fight.
Just look at the way Juanma was hitting Gerry to the body and making him drop his arms and then went straight to the dome with those vicious hooks, that's exactly how you beat a fighter who keeps coming in after taking shots. It's called controlling the body.

yeah i know that, but the fact that he can take shots and sit there like nothing happened is what makes me scratch my head about this fight. I understand he's not like Margarito where he'll take shots then move forward and try to knock your head off, but from what i've seen from the guy he's like a damn rock, you can pop em left an right and he just kinda sits there

You still don't understand that Clottey does not keep coming and coming. Clottey is a very economical with his punches and he likes to work off of the other fighters mistake. I repeat he's not a pressure fighter he let's the other fighter dictate the pace of the fight.

We must also understand, Cotto learned from the Marga-cheato fight and will not make the same mistakes twice. IE, going to the body early and using his jab more.

Clottey keeps no coming matter what, wtf he hardly throws any punches. The Clottey I seen just blocks and counters he's not a pressure fighter by any means.
Clottey's in for a world of pain, Cotto looks focused and ready to claim back what it his.

I like Cotto, but Clottey's style makes me a lil iffy on this one...Margarito jus kept coming and coming with all the punishment that Cotto dished out, and Clottey's pretty similar in that whole "keep coming with damn good D and attack no matter what" deal...not to mention with Cotto losing his uncle in his corner it makes me even more iffy.
Clottey will have to put immense pressure on Miguel, but he doesn't fight in that manner. He's a very good counter puncher, but may have trouble with Cotto who knows how to move out and select his shots and is a very patient fighter.
If Clottey relies on countering all night, Cotto will win a decisive match. If Clottey tries to slug it out with Cotto, he may have a shot at landing a solid shot on Cotto, but do not forget...Cotto can fight when he needs too as well.

I'm not worried, Cotto will break him down by going up stairs and then dropping that hook to the body. It's going to take work but that's what makes great fights.
Everybody is saying that tomorrows fight is the fight of the year. I have to disagree, this will be the fight of the year and who ever gets to watch this live will witness a fight to remember and never forget it..

I hate to break your balls, but there aren't any lions, tigers or bears in Ghana.
Lions may probably stray there from the savannah, but they are shot and past their prime, probably because the tigers and bears ruined them.
