At 130 he fought the very best and beat them all, except for Erik Morales in the first fight. He avenged that decision loss with two spectacular stoppage victories.
Since he's gone up in weight, above 130, he KO'd David Diaz at 135 and beat the crap out of a weight drained Oscar at Welter. Neither of those fights tested Manny at the higher weights, as David and Oscar were essentially punching bags with legs.
In Ricky Hatton, Manny will be fighting the best fighter in the World at 140lbs and a fighter in his prime. This will be Manny's first REAL fight and REAL test above 130lbs.

AGREE 100%
I could not Agree with you more. I have been saying this forever.
I agree with this for reasons that have already been outlined.
Which is why I picked Hatton when this fight was first announced.
Now that the weigh in is out of the way, I still see it the same way. Pac looks a bit shrunk compared to what he came in for DLH.
Hatton MD.
Ultimately, Marquez has the better tools sets to handle fighters who are bigger/heavier moving up then Pacquiao does.
I would put Manny in the class of the Castillo, Corrales type of fighter. The types that always need to have a strength and power punching advantage over their opponents and when they don't, they lose because they can't adjust.
Can Pacquiao adjust if one thing isn't working?
What will their weights be tomorrow???
Ricky looks like he's gonna put on about 10 pounds.
Manny looks like he might come in a couple pounds over 140.
Ricky will look bigger tomorrow night.
If Manny rips through Ricky and stops him, there will be no doubt about him being the #1 P4P fighter in the World, regardless of whether or not Floyd comes back. I think Ricky can present some major problems for Manny in this fight. But I can also see Manny going in there and doing what Manny does best, kicking ass. It's hard to tell.
It's one of those fights where it's gonna be hard to pick a winner or an outcome until the first few moments of the first round. That's why it's such a big fight. I cannot wait.

I dont buy this weight drained shit about Oscar. Before the fight everyone was applauding Oscar for making the weight easy and how sharp Oscar looked in training.Oscar gets his ass whooped and all of a sudden its the weight.Oscar took a beating from Forbes and he couldnt stop Forbes noone said anything, now Manny puts a stirling performance and the weight is the issue.
Give Manny some respect,he's not pound for pound number one for nothing.Who should Manny have beaten for you to give him credit,Vitali Klitchko?
2nd that motion de la hoya woulda got peaced up regardless, the weight issue jus made it more appairent

i concur with those factional statements made by thee
Considering that Hatton has not really faught anyone himself at 140 since 2005 lol
:lmfao:
Hatton at 140 has not ever been tested after 2005 so saying he is the best 140 is a little far stretched if you ask me.
Well he had a fight with the number 2 Paulie Malignaggi....just because he dominated so much doesnt mean it was an easy fight....like with other fighters....because they were so good, they made it look easy and dont get as much credit as they should.

I think David Diaz is a pretty good fighter so I do think that was a real test. Hatton is a HUGE test, however.
i completely agree. i am a little nervous for mr. pacman.
So am I now that I think about it. I'm rooting for Manny, but he's gonna have his hands full.
