If, yes thats a IF Hatton wins this fight where do you rate him in the P4P ratings.
As it stands Hatton isn't in the top 5 of any major media outlets p4p ratings:
The Ring: No.8
BoxRec: No.9
BBC: No.7
BoxingScene (Cliff Rold): Give Hatton a "Could be Here Shortly" mention (Harsh)
ESPN: No.12 (Harsh)
Obviously we already have Hattons vote as he feels he'll be P4P the best fighter on the planet.
Also how come nobody as contested this in the media i.e. other fighters, commentators or even writers for that matter. Hatton even commented in the final presser he's been reading the websites and he is aware of the publics opinion on the outcome of this fight so I'm sure he must of read the comments about him claiming he'll be p4p number 1 too.
Even Steve Bunce (:lame: - guilty pleasure sorry) supposedly frequents all the top boxing forums yet he hasn't contested the idea of Hatton falsely claiming the spot.
In my eyes this fight only as one title on the line and thats the IBO 140lb Strap.
I personally feel that the highest hatton should move up to is 5th possible 4th.
I just hope for your sake he don't look your really good for this fight then...
Lazcano was 33 year old lightwieght that was coming off a loss & 13 months inactivity... who had him on queer street in round 10.
Hatton was coming off his 1st defeat and got buzzed by 1 punch and was NO way near "queer street" in any part of that fight. Ricky pitched a near shutout on all cards that night....
Beating the p4p no1 dont automaticallly make you no1 and i dont think he will be put there. But i think if Hatton does beat pac in style in my eyes he would be p4p no1.
Noone else has beat pac of late, so why shouldnt hatton be no1. He has a lot of other good wins to get my approval.
Depends on the manner of victory really but i cant see him claiming the number 1 spot whatever go's down, tho i think he'd stop Marquez after Pac IF he wins tonight so thats the current 1 and 2 on his record, hard to argue with
I'd barely have him in the top 6
Manny did his best work at 125-135 when he beat Morales, Marquez and Barerra.
OK, i'd like to laugh at your top 6, what is it?
Hatton won almost EVERY round against Lazcano while shaking the rust off of his 1st defeat. Ricky looked really good in that fight IMO, getting hit with ONE punch in the fight shouldn't take away from such a dominant performance!

Lets not forget Hopkins is a career middleweight. Hatton didn't just lose a decision, he was dominated for most of the bout and eventually Koed. Blame the ref, trainer or whatever you like. Even if it was the number one fighter in the world that did it to him. It is all just opinions anyways.
Hatton wasn't "dominated" for the entire fight. The first 7 rounds were pretty even and Floyd dominated after the 8th because he hurt Ricky to the body and Ricky got careless after the point deduction for NO reason and shows why you should NEVER try and fight when you're angry in the ring. Anger only works in the movies, IRL anger in the ring only leads to you making mistakes that will eventually get you knocked out...
I wonder how much did Chico drop in the P4P ranking when Floyd beat him far worse then he did Hatton... I can almost guarantee you Chico didn't fall nearly as far as Hatton fell... Ricky also fought a bigger and better version of Floyd then Chico did!
I would say hes behind Marquez and BHOP. Maybe behind Vic too. He would be between 3-5 though.
:lol1: B-hop? Lost 3 of his last 6 fights, got relegated to #7 after losing to Calzaghe, and now he's #3 for beating Pavlik. GTFOH
Pacquiao>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Pavlik not even close
If B-hop is ahead of Hatton if Hatton wins there is something seriously ****ed up in the system.
If he beats pacman, i think it will all depend on HOW he beats him......
Also I noticed (i think anyway) Bernard said something along the lines of "Hes fighting for the number 1 pound for pound spot" so do you think he will say hattons the #1 for beating pacman?
I only agree with him being heavily penalized, but i think thats to do with the fashion of the loss, and then the poor performance against Lazcano. I feel he should be around 7 or 8.
I personally think p4p ratings should be based on the accomplishments you achieve outside your weight division. with that said Hatton went up to 147 and didn't really look amazing did he?

Sorry didnt make myself clear, u cant prove it, its educated guess work and opinion, a bit like if Wlad were to fight Pac but they were both the same size, who would win? Thats what I mean.
I'm shit at explaining stuff by typing so apologies if I still havent made myself clear.
Nah I know what your getting at... but thats why you hardly see heavyweights in p4p listings.
IF Hatton beats Pac, by all means he deserves to be in the top 5 P4P. Where in that top 5 I can't say but my opinion is around #3. Until next time its KO2you :boxing:
Sorry, not soley on accomplishments achieved outside your weight division.. obviously you have to dominate your natural class firstly then go onto to dominate fighters in other weight divisions and also different stylistic fighters to prove your pound for pound the best.
But you kind of contradict yourself, how are you gonna prove who you can beat if weight wasn't an issue - without leaving your natural weight class???

I disagree with that part. for me p4p is all about who could beat who if size wasnt an issue, so moving weight class isnt all that important. Some people can move up and down weight easier than others. Heavyweights being an obv example but its a non issue at the moment as they are all pretty shit.
However the way in which a fighter wins or loses a fight is hugely important, almost as important as the opponent(s) faced.

Do you believe a KO loss would affect your ranking more than a SD loss?
of course, if u get dominated and KTFO its worse than losing a SD, and should affect your ranking accordingly (not just p4p but division rankings too).
If u lose a SD u were obv. competitive in the fight, and maybe even have a claim that u deserved to win, if you get KTFO after being dominated for the most part u have no such claim!
