Had Roach been a normal functioning human being, i can understand all the back and forth trash talk, but the fact is, Roach is a very ill man. I like Floyd Sr, but i feel his taunting of Roach by calling him "Freddy the joke coach Roach", and all the other things that he's said about roach is a bit over the line, and classless in my opinion.
What do u guys think?
honestly, i never took the "joke coach roach" comment as a reference to his health. i always thought he just meant to say he's a wack ass trainer
what else has he said that makes you think that?
i cant think of anything right now
Pretty much said what i was gonna type out.

I personally don't give a shit either way. Roach is a big boy and he can give as good as he can take. Bob Arum had to tell him to shut up during the negotiations for the Delahoya-Pacquiao fight. I hate when people try to portray Roach as some quiet humble guy. He isn't and he's far from it. He can talk trash as good as anybody.
Its just pre fight hype. Imagine if nobody trash talks before the fight and just keeps on giving credit to the other fighter. Floyd Sr pre -fight trash is additional 100,000 ppv buys.
I've always hated Floyd Sr, who has absolutely no class. But that doesn't change the fact that this is ultimately just pre fight hype and Roach is happy to play along.
I find it amusing and I dont see no harm in it.
I think once though he called him punch drunk and that was crossing the line and uncalled for. But you have to consider Floyd Senior is a bit wacked out and in la la land a lot of the time.
i think roach would probably prefer this himself rather than floyd holding back and not cracking these little jokes because of freddys illness, im sure hed rather be treated like mayweather would treat him if he didnt have parkinsons than make special allowances for him
Hatton; "He throws wide hooks. He comes face-first. He has no jab. He's one-dimensional."
In fact, it's pretty hard to find personal comments made by the (generally over-the-top) Mayweathers.
Actually if you're talking about FMJ he said much more than that about Hatton.
Roach may be ill but he's never short of words when he comes to Mayweather Sr.
Mayweather isn't being personal with his comments on Roach and vice versa, It's just a boxing trainer rivalry which is helping hype up the fight between Hatton and Pacquiao.
i dont think freddie wants anyone to treat him any differntly because he has a disease.
thats what i was gonna say.
Also its not like Floyd is picking on some retarded kid in a wheelchair, Roach can handle it and defend himself. It all adds to the pre-fight hype
.......Roach gives it back pretty good. This quote below is my favorite. In fact, I might have to sig it.
"I know Floyd is trying to deprogram Ricky from being a one-dimensional puncher, but it's too late to try and brainwash a fighter who has close to 50 fights during a 12-year professional career. The fact is Floyd couldn't program a VCR much less a fighter with so many bad habits ingrained into him." -- Freddie Roach, Manny Pacquiao's trainer, taking yet another swipe at Ricky Hatton trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. before the Hatton-Pacquiao showdown on May 2.
imo roach is acting classless
sayin floyd needs a translator and his remarks about floyd being shot
floyd is keeping it all boxing roach is making it personal
I believe floyd knows this and feels it weakens pacs chances severely
also referencing FLOYD going to prison.............roach is the one being classless

It would be good if Hatton does win, especially by KO like Sr. predicts, that Sr. turns around and is humble towards Roach; shakes his hand like fighters do after a hard fought battle.
Some of it may actually be to help boost Hatton's confidence in both Sr. and Ricky himself. But I don't know. Some of it seems personal between Sr. and Roach...although more so Sr.
I don't know if Roach has ever really gone after Sr.'s ability to train a fighter or his knowledge of the game. I remembr Roach even saying Sr. may be a good trainer but it doesn't matter with this fight because he {Freddie} has the better fighter.
I think Sr. actually may know more than Roach in certain things in boxing and is probably the better trainer but Roach has been in a position to get the accolades and many more want to dismiss Sr.'s role in building Jr.
An "Artist" only needs one masterpiece. For Roger's influence: True, but I thought I heard Roger followed and was taught by Sr. as well at some point.
Either way; I hope things work out for the best and all is good on both sides after the fight.
I do think both Sr. and Hatton need this victory more for legacy purposes.
