I think that is a great idea. In fact, I think the HOF from other sports should do the same.

At the end of the day, I don't think Izzy and Rafa will make it to the HOF, but it's sure as hell that their fights is the nuts when it comes to trilogies, bar none...

When I visited Canastota about 15 months ago, there was a section of a wall dedicated to great fights. The International Boxing Hall of Fame isn't just the inductees - their plaques are but one section of the building. And I can tell you there was at least one large Gatti-Ward photo in the building they use for memorabilia sales.

cause you can have two non hall of fame fighters...but they could have a hall of fame fight Exactly.....

good idea. That way fights like Gatti-Ward and Sith-Monshipour would be in the Hall forever

I like that idea. Guys like Gatti, Ward, Corrales, and others deserve to be recognized some how.

A good start would be to induct the FOTY and retroactively as well .. So you would already have a full Gallery.. then Perhaps hold votes to include others ??

The boxing HOF should only serve one purpose.perhaps they could create some other kind of establishment to showcase great fights, but it shouldn't be Canastota I personaly think that that purpose should be to showcase the very best from boxing whether it be fighters or fights. Just my opinion of course.

This thread was Inspired by the question of Mickey Ward and his Potential induction into Canastota HOF.. I do not think he should be inducted.. BUT there is a way that Guys like Ward can get into the Hall.. without putting them beside the ATGs and thus devaluing the ATGs a little.. And that is to Induct FIGHTS themselves into the hall.. You don't really want to say Castillio or Coralles is really worthy.. but their 1st fight is the stuff of legends.. SO a section dedicated to the great Fights.. regardless of who fought them.. would be a way for some fighter to get their names in there without actually being inducted.. which would still be an honour for sure..
