To be fair to Taylor, he was right. Carl Froch was a nobody.

I don't think he meant anything by it. Just talking a little trash before the fight, which a lot of boxers have done and will contine to do. I give Froch credit for coming forward and not stopping. However, a fine boxer will put him on the canvas for good. I think Bute would knock him out personally. The guy throws the uggliest/slowest uppercut I've ever seen. To be honest Taylor came across as an alright guy in the after-fight interview - still satisfying to see Froch ram those words down his throat though. It's a sure thing that whoever his next opponent is won't be saying these things.

I feel a bit sorry for him on that because, as you say, it was just a true statement. Nobody he was talking to probably had heard of Froch, and they would be used to Taylor fighting the big names. Still everyone knows who Froch is now. Taylor will just be pissed at having lost; he won't give it a second thought. He just needs to come to terms with the fact that most probably won't have heard of whoever he fights next, either. It's a long way back.
