Floyd Mayweather is a bad advert for Boxing. Thats why i dont understand the people who support him. He is reflective of everything that is wrong with modern Boxing. His attitude, his cherry picking of fighters, and treating Boxing fans like something he just wiped of his shoe.
Disrespecting former great fighters.
Before fights he acts as though he is a cross between Mike Tyson and Gerald McClellan. However when he gets into the ring he fights more like a cross between Hector Camacho and Cory Spinks.
Guys like him are the reason there sport is floundering in America.
How can you support this guy and call yourself a Boxing fan?
I think you have a reading comprehension problem if you cant understand my underlying point. It was the antics i was comparing, not the resume. Anyone with a rational mind could see that. Robinson also picked and choosed as he got to the top, not only did he pick and choose, he dictated his cut of the purse, sometimes in a childish and frustrating manner.
You cant compare to PBF to Robinson resume wise, but their buisnessman ways are VERY comparable, if you know him as a fighter, you know this is the truth. Since you dont, its a little harder for you understand. If Robinson was around today, he would take every advantage of what fighters do today in this era.
You dont need to educate me on who they fought, i know this already. But i see you dont want to have an actual discussing to which you could benefit from a different perspective, ill leave you to you "PBF IS A FUKKIN PUZZY THE WORST FIGHTER IN THE SPORT" etc nonsense if thats all you can comprehend as far as conversation. Since i havent really seen anything that says you can contend with discussing the latter of those options.
Well who gives a damn about the antics ? i dont care what Mayweather does or says as long as he fights the best fighters out there, so what is your point ?
If Mayweather fights the best i have no problem with him.
Please dont compare Leonard to Mayweather.
Leonard fought and beat Hagler,Hearns,Duran,Benitez and what ever you think about him not giving them rematches, which he is not obliged to do, he still fought and beat Top fighters.
Take you stupid shit to the history section and see if people think Robinson is comparable to Floyd in how he picked and choose, dodged challenges.
You Maweather fans put foward some lame shit you really do.

I guess. Guys like dempsey who defended the title i think 5 times in 7 years and went 2 whole years without defending it so he could be a celebirty. Or ray robinson, the day before a fight, would jack up his purse and threaten to no-show the next day unless he was paid. Or Ray Leonard winning a LHW title, without actually winning it against Lalonde. Or the way ray leonard retired when everyone thought he was on the brink of fighting marvin hagler, and eventually fought him when he knew he had lost a step (and still lost). OOOOOOR, ray leonard pulling ANOTHER comeback, on PPV against Terry Norris and getting his ass kicked etc.
Honestly. I could go on and on but you get my drift. You are taking your lust for a particular fighter way to far. Again, if you werent on the computer everyday, reading ever piece of gossip you could find like this was TMZ, would you honestly care? Mayweather has his share of quality fights, and might have more in the future. When that happens, thats fine with me, but even if it doesnt, its still fine with me, because i love the sport, not just one fighter.
I dont like any of these PBF antics one bit, its tired, but there is more to the sport than just him, my understanding of this allows me to not care all that much when he does it. I suggest you do the same and stop revolving yourself around one man.

And there is one major difference between them and Mayweather, they still fought the best fighters out there.

Is this different from floyd having not fought a legit welter in 2 years from when he held the title? No.

mayweather isnt all that different from quite a few other all time greats who pulled his style of antics. If you know the sport historically, then you know there have been many other arrogant, brash and frustratingly mouthy boxers who have risen, fallen sometimes risen again or fell permenently. If you revolve your life and your time and energy into one guy and into hating him, you basically play into the game he laid out in the first place. The welfare of the sport doesnt revolve around one fighter and if you think it does, then i think you yourself need to step away from the computer and actually watch or pay attention to other fighters.
Supporting that fighter doesnt bring down some house of cards of a sport. That notion is asinine and misinformed.

If it's OK for people like you to support a low-blowing quitter like Cotto..then it's OK for people like me to like the best fighter in the game..Mayweather.
And that is there difference between me and you, im real fan not a glory hunting little shit head full of piss and wind like yourself.
Im a Cotto fan because i enjoy watching him not because he is successful, if Cotto lost the next 5 fights and got KTFO i would still be a fan, where as if that happened to Floyd you would move on to the next guy who is top of the Sport.
That is why you dont care what Mayweather does, because you are not a fan you are a fan boy of successful fighters, flavour of the month, and the only reason you dont support Pac is because as you have stated you still believe Mayweather is the best in the world.
Your a joke.
No im sorry that are people like you who are pathetic enough to support someone who is clearly such a cancer for the Sport that you apparently love.
Supporting Mayweather contradicts any notion that you give a damn about the welfare of this Sport.

Floyd vale verga.
:bottle:
You're crying because Floyd has fans.
Get over it and go pluck your eyebrows like a good lil rican.

just let it slide bro.. floyd have about 10 fans in boxingscene and thats it :lol1:
Mayweather is the type of guy that draws ex Boxing fans back to the Sport because of his outspoken loud persona, and then when he puts on one of his boring ass performances and fights like a girl after talking like a warrior, they remember why they left Boxing to become MMA fans and they return to just watching MMA.
Biggest fraud of all time and the people that support him well..........pfft
I disagree with the whole premise, there is no such thing as bad advertising in boxing.
IF you can generate a strong feeling of hatred in the audience that might actually be better then making the audience love you (if people love seeing you lose, you could theoretically make money for much longer). Either one will make a fighter a huge pile of cash though (Hero vs. Villian fights are fights the public eat up like tasty cakes).
Im not comparing myself to Floyd. Im comparing him to other warriors who have made this Sport what it is, and not downgraded the product with their BS.
Who said they did not respect his accomplishments? COMPARED to other fighters he has devalued the reputation of the sport not enhanced it.
then why do you say that?
Floyd has more balls than Tony and Cotto combined.
Let's see them move up as many divisions as Floyd and win titles along the way.
I think not... if he do, then who's the best of them?
