I think he is. He has had alot of solid fights in his career against great boxers, and even today after he is past his prime he is still a champion. Nothing but respect for SSM.
Your logic might be sound but your facts are not. Diego corrales #3???? No way, not even to 20. All he had beaten was angel manfredy smoke gainer and jukko. So you are telling me that Chico was 3 behind who? Rjj and bhop? So he was ranked higher than shane who was coming off his win over dlh. Trinidad who was a beast. Kostya tszyu, barrera, lennox, oscar, vernon Forrest (32-0) erik morales, finito lopez etc. I don't know what pfp you got that corrales at 3 from but it can't be legit. Maybe it was Horus' list.
Also, are you saying winky wasn't ranked when shane fought him? He was and so was Forrest.
I'll give you hatton, at 10 fir arguments sake but he was known as overrated already via the collazo fight so he was a very suspect top 10 pfp entrant.
Ok, did some actual research and a reputable list has him at 6 behind shane roy Bernard oscar and the prince. Although I disagree he is on a list. Shane lost his pfp rankings because he took chances. Floyd didn't lose his because he stopped taking chances. Ps- corrales never say the pfp list again
Winky did not become a P4P guy until AFTER he beat Shane. Right?
Corrales was #3 p4p, and Hatton was #8 p4p when Floyd beat them. Feel free to look that up.
Also, you have to take the TOTALITY of the boxing resumes into perspective.
Floyd had the better amateur career. Much. Floyd was undefeated. Floyd was on the p4p list for TEN YEARS, and at 31 for three years. Five Green Belts. No steroid taint.
tively, just look at how the objective boxing writers had them ranked during their careers - which largely overlapped. They saw both. T
hey had FMJ at #1, and SSM below that.

Paul Williams..........
He may have monetary reasoning for not taking that fight. He wants to fight Mayweather for the big bucks. If he winds up with no other options, I could see him taking that fight.......it would be a tough as hell fight though.
These morons don't know what "ALL TIME" great means.[/QUOT
Shane is a very good fighter who I believe will go straight to Hof. The only current atg's fighting are BHop and Pac Mac(who still has a little to prove but he gets it for beating 3 top 6pfp guys already). Rjj-very good, all most great. Quis, I disagree that Floyd has a better resume than Shane. Shane has fought guys in their prime that were pfp guys (winky, oscar). Floyd had not, ever.
These morons don't know what "ALL TIME" great means.
he was pointing out the fact, that mosley has only beaten 1 "great" fighter.
that doesn't make you an all-time great.
U damn right he is,I'll put it like so,fought everyone on the block and won most of his big fights, doesnt matter if he lost 5,they were all against elite fighters!!Mosley is world class baby!!!!!!!!!!1
besides DLH, what elite fighter has mosley beaten?
good, good fighter....but not an ATG.
If steroids are overrated then whats the point of using them???
IF you think that SMM's condition at 37 years old has nothing to do with steroids then you are a fool.....
Yup, because James Toney.. The dounut eating belly who is known for good conditioning (who also used steroids) is also in great shape today because of his steroids right? Nope, not really.
People tend to believe you take some steroids and wake up the next morning ripped up and strong as a bull.. That's not the case.. it takes hard work no matter what.. Is it fair to use it? No, it isn't.. Does it affect him 5 years later that he once took it? Hell naw.. Look at Vargas and Toney.. They took it.. You won't find two past-prime fighters in worse conditioning.

totally agreed. that's what fighters are suppose to do. fight the best.
mosley fought and want to fight against the best. he's in
Ex,
ATG?! really?
Where do you have him ranked? Top 25? Top 50? Top 100?
Do you rank him DEFINITIVELY above these guys of his generation (ish):
Whitaker
Jones, Jr
Holyfield
Hopkins
Chavez
Mayweather
Barrera
Morales
Pacquiao
Lewis
Chavez
Wright
Etc...
Can a guy be an ALL TIME great if he isn't in the top 15 of his own era?
well he said top 100...and Shane has a better resume than Winky
Then Roy Jones Jr isn't an ATG either? Steroids are overrated..
