If Caballero wins his next fight he could move up to 126 and face Gamboa. Man this is an interesting fight I wonder how Gamboa will deal with that 5'11 featherweight monster lol. Huge step up in class too, but I think Gamboa could beat him.
you are saying that gamboa hasnt fight anybody yet. and when hes gonna fight somebody, you say "he doesnt deseve that fight" .....come on give me a break...by the way, in the last fight gamboa look exelent, rojas didnt have a chance with him
Caballero doesn't even get to 130 on fight night. He's a skinny dude.
Caballero earned his stripes fighting all over the world. Went to Thaliand to get his title against the hometown guy, Venezuela to defend it against the hometown guy, then Canada to grab the IBF title against the hometown guy.
Gamboa got mad skills but don't think if he gets dropped, it's gonna be that easy to get up. Cab knows how to close the show when he's got his man hurt.
JRECK,
I have nothing to say, it's just unnatural hatred when it comes to Caba. I dislike watching 6'0 fighters pound on 5'4 fighters. It's like when Edner Cherry fought Monty Meza Clay....it was a ****in freak show in there. Maybe MMC should grow a couple of inches or something.
I respect that he earns his shit the hard way...and I liked that he beat up on Ponce a few years back...but he's just too ****in big and rangy for these lil guys. I wanna see someone deck him. Sorry.
Gamboa got tons of amateur experience. He can fight better opponents and this step up is not that "big". I believe Gamboa got real talent to defeat Caballero. If he doesn't is due to his corner. I believe he could benefit from a better trainer/team. Plus a defeat may help to get his head out of his arse and start taking fights more seriously. Gamboa es un fresco, fregao' y orgulloso que se cree el mas listo y la segunda venida de Cristo...
I would LOVE to see Gamboa clock Caballero. Something about Caballero fighting at such a low weight bothers me. I know, I know, Paul Williams and Tommy Hearns and yada yada.....but I just want to see him fight someone who can dish out some real firepower.
Caballero just wants to fight. He calls out everyone and beats them in their backyards.
Sometimes he doesn't use his height and would rather brawl so he gets in trouble sometimes but when he does use his height he's great to watch.
And he will go to war with anyone.
He also called out Izzy, Marquez, you name it.
I am pretty sure he doesn't like fighting the Elvis Meija's and shit. He wants a big fight.
I doubt Caballero has weight trouble. Against Molitor he weighed in at 129 on fight night and 121 on the scales. For a dude almost 6 feet tall he's unreally skinny.
Well everyone else ignored him and Gamboa is actually looking to make him put his monety where his mouth is. I like that.
I didnt meanted like that highspeed, jejeejjejee
Its just that gamboa, have only fought Tomatoe cans, and the only guy, who wasnt a Tomatoe Can, ,made him look really bad, and the guy didnt even thrw punches.
I prefer hm to fight a Jorge Solis, or somebody like that, to see, if he can handle the big boys. And with him having a Khan type of chin, I dont want Caballero ruining a Star potential career.
I see what your saying. Although Gamboa has been down, I've never seen him really hurt or wobbly like Khan so I don't think his chin is that bad. But it does have a big question mark on it.
I think Gamboa has fought pretty good competition too. Not really good or world class fighters but I mean guys like Johhny Edwards (KO1), Darling Jimenez (UD 10), Al Seeger (KO1), Marcos Ramirez (KO2) can all fight as could Rojas in his last fight.
Gamboa only has 15 pro fights and his resume is very impressive to me. He's fought pretty good comp I think he could handle himself against Pelechin Caballero.
your entitled to your opinion though.
Caballero has the IBF and WBA belts now. I would say things have changed.
I believe JuanMa Lopez if he beats Penalosa is the ideal fight for El Pelenchin.
Winner would have 3 of the 4 belts.
Juanma-Pelechin would be a great fight indeed, but Caballero called out Gamboa. And Gamboa responded. Gamboa didn't push for this fight, which isn't even signed yet anyway they are just in discussions. Caballero wanted it...trouble making weight maybe?
That shit aint a belt, It was for the interim WBA belt, wich is laughable!!!!!!1
Gamboa, needs to prove himself, in his last fight he looked like straight doo-doo.
Just because your flashy and hsit, doesnt mean yiu deserve the fight. tehre are other fighter, who deserve a aballero fight more.
Anyways, Gamboa, should fight a mid level FW, too see how he do. becuase he looked bad in his las fight, against a guy who didnt threw a punch!!!!!!!!11
Dios mio I didn't know it took so much to deserve a Caballero fight. Will Caballero take over now that De La Hoya is gone? What did Elvis Mejia and Jorge Lacierva do to fight the great Caballero? lol it's Caballero your acting like it's some huge super fight and he don't deserve it.
Not to mention, Caballero called Gamboa out! Gamboa responded and said he would fight him.
I see nothing wrong with this fight being put together man.
And that guy he fought in his last fight..Rojas...had a draw with Chris John, and then later lost the rematch in a fight that looked a lot like Gamboa-Rojas. I think Gamboa performed better against Rojas than John did.
again, it's hard to look good when your oppoent is fighting a strictly defensive fight.
As pathetic as it is, Gamboa actually won a belt in his last fight, a world title. He didn't look to good because his opponent was just fighting a defensive fight, its easy to avoid damage when that's all your doing and not trying to fight back.
I think Gamboa deserved a big fight. Olympic gold, coming to America, winning all his pro fights, the guy deserves the fight. It's not like he's fighting Oscar De La Hoya for millions, it shouldn't be too too much for him to deserve a fight against Caballero.
People complain he needs to step up, well he's stepping up.
yeh it wa for the wba strap since the wba annouced john as super champ. lol.. it was kind of a gimme title to gamboa.. but hey if its given to u why not take it.
Caballero, Should fight Juanma or Another Champ.
Gamboa, needs to win a belt altleast. And in his last fight, where he wasnt fighting a tomatoe can, he look like ass, even tho, his opponent didnt threw any punches!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
e needs to prove he is worthy.
Nothng against the guy, he just havent done shit, yet!!!!!!!!!1

Caballero is tall and clumsy, he'll get punished by Gamboa

haha he did win a belt this fri. i think it was the wba strap... either way who ever caballero fights juanma or gamboa will be a gd fight but he will lose to both
He hasn't fought anyone worth a damn to earn a fight with Caballero. Don't get me wrong, I think Gamboa is very skillful but I think Celestino has unfinished business at 122 before he moves up.
like i said man... he moved up through the ranks fairly.. and caballero will be the one moving up to his division to fight for his title. if it happens it will be a gd fight.
First Gamboa, Doesnt deserve a fight with Caballero.
Second Juana is ****ed, Marquez and Vazquez are pretty much, retire and if Caballero moves up, they will not be any more things to do for Juanma at 22, so I guess he will move to 126, before expected
why wouldn't gamboa be deserving of a fight with caballero? he has paid his dues in the ring in a short period of time i think what 2-3 yrs? climbed up through the ranks fairly.
