During 24/7 episode 2 Moore and Roach were watching tapes of Hatton. They said Hatton was overrated, he always go back to his old ways, and he didn't learn that much with Mayweather. Of course it takes time for a boxer to adjust to a new trainer. Do you think Hatton can show something new that may surprise Pacquiao?
I think Graham was holding Hatton back, (I mean he was using a body bag for the Mayweather fight), of course Hatton has to be grateful for Graham, but Hatton should of dropped Graham as a trainer years ago.
In my opinion, the fight will Pacquiao will be the barometer to show how much Hatton has improved under Mayweather Sr.. I still don't think that the Malignaggi fight is not sufficient to say that Mayweather has improved Hatton drastically but it did give Hatton a boost in confidence.
And thats what gets you KO, If hatton had gone with someone like Mayweather snr 3 to 4 years ago he would have a better chance of prolonging his boxing career into his mid-30s but because of the face-first style under billy graham the damages has already been done.
He has 2 years tops at the top level, People like Matt macklin left graham earlier because they saw the light before it was too late.
Matt Macklin is like a MW version of Ricky Hatton, although Macklin is more skilled. Grahams face first brawling type of boxing didn't work against Jamie Moore, and Macklin did the right thing letting go of Graham.
Not really, maybe in training but not as much during fight night. Trust me Hatton WILL RESORT TO HIS OLD WAYS COME MAY 2.
so? his old ways are the way to smash Pacquiao
That's exactly what Hatton does - he keeps coming forward no matter what. He is known for this. Against Mayweather he took some hard shots flush but just kept charging at him all night up till he got KO'd. Hatton respects no-ones power and will charge at Pacquiao for 3 minutes of every round, and that's why he will pose problems for Pac. Manny needs time and space to get in and out quickly, and he won't be able to do this against Hatton. He will have to dance circles around the ring and pot shot to keep Hatton off him, but he's no PBF and won't be comfortable doing this.
good post, that's how I see it going too. Ref will play a big part though. If Pac hangs/hugs on to Hatton the ref will split them and Pac will hit first.
Hatton is looking better with Sr. in training and will probably look better come fight night... the Mallignagie fight was after only being with him for 7 weeks so it is hard to see a complete change that's why he went back to his old ways.
fighters usually always revert to their old ways

If Pac gets hit with the shot that hatton landed on Paulie in round two he goes down. there is nothing wrong with paulies chin and he was in queer street from that shot.
pac hasn't been hit by a Superfeatherweight or higher so I rate paulies chin way higher than pac's.
not P4P obviously but in case you hadn't noticed this fight isn't P4P, it's in the real world where bigger fighters are capable of landing and taking harder shots than smaller fighters.
yep, you pretty much said it
paullies chin is better than pacs, he withstood cottos and hatton best shots
i know pac can hurt hatton, but hatton can definently hurt him back
the referee will be the deciding factor i feel
hatton is a good puncher, but i don't think he can KO pac under 4.
I don't think he will KO him at all, this one is going the distance, but that because pac is so much better at not getting hit by the shot Paulie got hit with not because of his chin.

maybe, maybe not.

Well Hatton has been having a very good sparring sessions, with very good southpaws. He was interviewed in the Williams/Wright fight and he was pretty much bruised, that's a good indication that he has been having good sparring.
or it could mean that hatton is getting beat up in sparring which would be a bad indicaiton
That will prepare him for very well Pacquiao,
or it could hurt his confidence
if only Hatton went with Mayweather like three years ago.
true, hatton should've lost to collazo, then he'd have switched trainers
that's just ridiculous, he couldn't beat malignaggi in 4 roundsIf Pac gets hit with the shot that hatton landed on Paulie in round two he goes down. there is nothing wrong with paulies chin and he was in queer street from that shot.

I think Mayweather Snr. has truly sparked something within ricky hatton...
The Hatton who showed up against Juan Lazcano seemed somewhat unsure of himself.
Since Floyd came along his confidence has truly rubbed off on ricky and sparked that flame within himself that will bring him through a very new and difficult training camp that will in the end have him sharp and polished for the fight of his life.
i think pac man is taking Hatton way way 2 lightly, as is his camp, after watching 24/7 part 2
he's got his wife thier with 2 weeks to go, having fun with his sparring partners, the trainers dont know who the lead trainer is and dismissive of hattons skills....doesnt bode well
true, but all anyone ever says is that pac is a machine in training

look...all floyd is doing is making ricky throw accurate punches..think before he throws..and be able to dodge shots better...Thats really all one can ask and that would be plenty against mos fighters...
Exactly. Well said.
