Tito came back out of shape, with his last win, in 2004, he fought another old washed fighter, and they managed to get 500K+ PPVs Is Oscar,Hatton(In the UK), Tito and the rest!!!!!!!!!! Who was that? Mayorga wasnt washed up.

For his first fight back, Floyd's nit going to fight someone that could be favored to beat him (i.e. Williams) or someone who could seriously check for rust (i.e. Mosley). So, at Welter, he could fight a guy like Collazo which would be interesting even though everyone would assume Floyd the winner before the opening bell and the fight would generate so-so buzz... ...or he can come back in what can be built into an event againsta future Hall of Famer who will make a good show with the same chance of winning a Collzao type would realistically have. I don't get the fuss. Events are good for Boxing.

That in one PPV Hatton had with Floyd he proved that his fans have made him as popular as Oscar was around the world. This is a tuneup. JMM has never fought above 135. Mayweather will damn near shut this guy out on the scorecards. I give JMM maybe 2 rounds at best. Floyd is just a horrible matchup for JMM. Floyd is a great fighter whos won belts at every weight class. But the one thing he is NOT, is the best welterweight. His resume at WW is downright pathetic considering the amount of hype he gets. Ive never seen a fighter fight at a weight and continue to fight at a weight but never fight ANYBODY relevant at that weight.

In Floyd's WW fights he would weigh-in at 146 and come into the ring at 148. He even had to pot shot in most of his fights because the guys were so much bigger then him. So, what's the problem with him fighting at 140 then? He can obviously make it really damn easy and probably be much more comfortable there. If he's so much smaller then giving that tiny concession to a natural FW or SFW at most, is absolutely nothing. He should be happy to go down to 140. If he's not going to and whine about him not coming up to 147 then he just needs to get moving and actually start fighting some real WW's and you need to stop making these daft threads that are pathetically sad.

Really he should thank Oscar for opening of fights that used to be impossible to happen. Like Oscar said these fights were only seen in video games. Next time Mayweather will ask to fight flyweight.

Again how is Shane a big draw now when he has never been a big draw????? Even in his prime??? He did a lot with Oscar twice obviously since it's Oscar. He did 900k with Vargas two times. He's not a huge draw, but it's a lot more then the 100k he did with Casamayor. He did 400k against Pacquiao the second time and around 250k with Barrera. JMM isn't a huge draw and neither is Shane, but Shane is the way better draw. My point is, if Floyd wanted a bigger fight with a bigger paycheck, he could have, but didn't. He didn't duck Mosley, just chose an easier tune up fight. But then if Pac get by Hatton a Floyd/Pac fight would be "the super fight"? How can that be if JMM is a tune up for Floyd and at the same time Pac and JMM are relatively equal? Because JMM is fighting at 147 or 145, not 130 or 135. JMM loses speed and defense skills and is not the same fighter.

You do realize that Marquez, at the same time Floyd was fighting Baldomir at 147, was fighting Jaca at 125. This is the same guy that moved up to 130lb to chase Pacman, then again to 135lb to chase pacman. This is the same guy that was outsized by a small lightweight named Juan Diaz. People can say size doesn't matter all they want, but there comes a point where it does. 135lb is too big for Marquez already, 147 is a joke. In this thread I talked about how Floyd was at 140 when Winky was at 160 but everyone was ok with that fight and called Floyd a punk when it didnt happened. Pavlik was fighting guys at 170 when Williams was fighting at WW. Calzaghe was at 175 when Williams was at WW but everyone wants to see those fights. Also, Floyd came in at 148 against Baldy while Baldy came in at 165. That just further proves my point.

The size difference isn't that big, the mismatch is in the style...reason why I call it a tune up. Ofcourse I'll say it is a good win but really, I see nothing in JMM that could trouble Floyd Yes, the size difference is that big. Juan Manuel Marquez has a 67 inch reach. Floyd Mayweather has a 72 inch reach. 5 inches in reach is HUGE. Marquez barely has more reach than Ricky Hatton. This fight is absolutely meaningless with statistical differences like that.

You yourself said that the guys Floyd were fighting were bums yet his numbers are just as good if not better then all the other fights when those were 2 super stars fighting eachother. I never said he was Oscar but he's the next best. You also have to remember that those fights happened when Floyd was basicaly a nobody. No one in the mainstream knew him that much at that time and he still put up virtually the same PPV numbers against so called bums as other Super Stars put up in Super fights against eachother.
