Here it shows where they measured Frank Bruno's punching power at .... wait for it ..... 400 kg. How is that possible?

Hatton hits so hard, that is why he wasn't able to KO paulie. He had to have the Paulies team stop it. And Paulie already said weight-drained Cotto hits harder.
LOL If Hatton and other lighter weight fighters punched as hard as the likes of Bruno they'd be knocking everybody out cold in every fight. They'd even be stopping opponents with glancing blows.
I never believed that shit about when testing a fighter(boxing or mma) about his punching power on a machine.
If Hatton has Bruno's power then Pac got Tyson's power.
Hatton was on a English soccer programme as a guest called Soccer AM and they tested him on one of these machines compared to an average male, he hit it 13 times harder.
They also had another boxer/fighter (can't remember, wasn't a massive name) do it and the average male beat him, the boxer jabbed it for some reason lol
Haha i remmember that....it was Evander Holyfield that jabbed it...he didnt really try but it was more of a cross punch lol.... heres the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJxCiJYDYRg&feature=related
Those machine things are shit anyway i remember seeing some guy hit one really hard and he got an awful score the machine was playing up as i did a jab and got a massive score which was just stupid then i hit it hard and the thing registered 0 lol, those things don't mean much.
Some of the tests only measure the power of the punch at the point of impact, they dont measure the follow thru. He technically doesnt hit as hard but it will show that he does.
Hatton's aren't claims they were verified by a real scientific team at a University which results can be viewed in multiple articles on the internet. Furthermore, Hatton initially hit the machine so hard he broke it and caused it to register something ridiculous like 1500lbs.
The question is what is being scientifically measured, and whether in the case of all the fighters that have been mentioned it is/was the same thing. According to what seems to be the standard measure, top dog was Rocky Marciano at 1,000 psi or so. Bruno came in around 880, Tyson at 930. Now, according to that same measure of punching power no sane person could believe Hatton would score 900, let alone 1,500. Hatton punches as hard as Tyson did? Er, no. If he did he would have KO'd all his opponents within 2 rounds. You can 'verify' everything, but if you measuring different things, then comparisons are meaningless.
Likewise, comparing Pacquaio's '300' with Hatton's '900' is equally pointless, as they are obviously measures of different things.
The only "claims" are those from Pacman's camp. Hatton's aren't claims they were verified by a real scientific team at a University which results can be viewed in multiple articles on the internet. Furthermore, Hatton initially hit the machine so hard he broke it and caused it to register something ridiculous like 1500lbs.
Here's a fight science report on punch power from different disciplines.
They had guys from tae kwon do, karate, kung fu etc all punch a dummy and the hardest hit recorded was from a boxer. Keep in mind most of those guys look like 200lbs+ and were hitting at 800-900. The heavyweight boxer hit at like 990.
"Measuring the forces applied in football studies, the team also worked out that Hatton's average punching force is more than twice the kicking force of a Premier League footballer."
:lol1: Damn, the Pac fans claim he only hits 300 lb thats pathetic.
How is that possible?
It isn't possible, the various claims we have now amount to Hatton punching three times as hard as Pacquiao (and as hard as Tyson), with Pacquiao himself having a HW punch, and clearly all that amounts to total nonsense. I suspect proverbial apples are being compared with oranges somewhere along the line. That figure for Bruno is in the region of those for Tyson and Marciano, and seems about right. Methinks we need an expert on this stuff to explain things.

maybe he does, but hatton smothers all his punches by getting too close and hugging
They used a machine that I saw once in a gaming arcade where you drop a quarter. LOL
:lol1: Them machines are good fun, especially when you see a little dude get a higher score than the guys who think they are hard.

I've seen a few articles about boxers punch power, and they seem to go from one extreme to the other depending on what type of equipment they use. I don't think there is a accurate way to measure a boxers punch unless they are hitting the same equipment.
hatton is a good puncher but hes not that strong no way!!
maybe gloves used, wrapping, bag type used, weight of the boxer when they were doing the test all this would influence the result
