What do you think :dunno:
I won't vote, I'll let all you vote since I clearly have a biased viewpoint, because I think Hatton has won most of his big-fights by clinching excessively

No more biased than Cortez was in favour of Mayweather.
Look, people. Like fighters, referees have different styles, and opinions as to what 'excessive' clinching may be. Clinching is part of the game, and all fighters do it when the situation requires, even those nuthugged by the hate-Hatton contingent. Good fighters also know how to handle it. One approach does not make a referee 'biased' any more than another.
If we are talking about huggers, then lets include Hopkins in that list, his victories over DLH and Tito were cheats...:bs2:[/QUOT
well I guess you never watched those fights or you are just being sarcastic because these are 2 fights where he probably held the least. But with that said im going to vote yes the ref was bias. I havent watched the fight in a while but 2 things that stick in my mind was when zoo dropped hatton with a body shot that was ruled a "slip" and that blatant low blow he hit zoo with was crazy and all he got was a warning( mind you that he did it right after the ref was warning zoo for goin low then right after that he popped him-that was intentional imo) and lets not forget all of the holding.
As a big fan of both fighters, yes he was. Hatton could have bitten Tszyu that night and the ref would have done nothing. He let Ricky get away with murder and Kostya was too old to win that kind of rough house fight.
Plain and simple, Hatton gained his advantage in that fight by doing something illegal. He was holding and hitting, a whole ****ing lot. If he had not been able to do that so freely, it may have been a different conclusion.
Dude was just lazy as ****. Hatton was gettin away wit a lot, but I can't say he was biased cuz he wasn't gettin on K for anything, although he really wasn't doin anything dirty to get warned.
i've seen some bad refereeing but the ref in the tszu/hatton fight was the worst so far!i've never seen a ref that actually allows fighters to clinch so excessively and use elbows and headbutts without taking out points.hopefully i would never ever have to see a ref like that again.tony weeeks, kenny bayless, raul caiz, joe cortez and jay nady are pretty good IMO
You obviously don't watch a lot of boxing then.
If i remember right...and i may well be wrong (if so call me on it, i don't mind) i think the ref on the night was Dave Parris. Now i rate this ref as one of the better referee's in the fight game, he regularly refs Friday fight night and Big Fight Live bouts and not in any i've seen can i recall either fighter claiming he was below par.....as for the Hatton-Tszyu fight i again can't recall either fighter complaining about the standard of the Ref, therefore i believe he wasn't biased
No!...how many times have we been over this question in the forms.....nobody could have stopped ricky that night....he rose to the occassion to give a performance of a lifetime....i hope he can do the same against pac
