before I watched this episode I was thinking Pac was going to have a rough night against Hatton. Now that I've seen them both training I think Pac might have a better chance than I thought.
1: Seeing them both hitting pads and bags Pac having more speed is very clear.
2: When Floyd SR told Hatton for head movement when he was hitting the bag and all he did was bring his hands up. Where's the better defense he's learning?
I think Pac might have an easier time than I first thought. If Pac can just pick Hatton off coming in with his speed he might just make it look easy. Hatton did have black eyes from sparring with head gear, and I know he's sparring with a jr middle, but the rest of his partners are lightweights and up. Imagine 6+ rds with Pac.
I know people are betting on Hatton to rough Pac up on the inside but what if Pac ain't there to be hit, what's his plan then? I'm waiting to see Hatton spar, then you can really see if training with Sr is paying off. Just some thoughts I had after seeing the episode. What do you think?
anyone ever see that fight were the guy's mom jumped in the ring and started hitting her son's opponent with her shoe?
that shit was hilarious. i think it happened in britain.
yes I've seen it, and yes it was f@ckin hilarious.
Pacs camp are smart and are preparing Pac to avoid wrestling. Moorer said to Manny land then get out so he can't hold you. They know thats his only chance.
my biggest worry with Ricky is that he wants it TOO much! i don't think there is a braver or more game fighter anywhere in the world. he genuinely doesn't seem intimidated or worried about anyone.....but sometimes that is Hattons achilles heel. IMO
LOL. Pac's mom is coming to Vegas from PI to see the fight also. I think no one wants to see their kid get his ass kicked.

you're gonna let a few seconds of bag work change your mind? lol...
didn't change my mind I still think Pac is going to win. It just might be easier then expected. I guess I was putting to much into Sr being his trainer and it wasn't just the bag work.
Just like the Hatton/Mayweather 24/7 had people believing Hatton would beat up Floyd. These shows are dited and directed you can't take anything away from them except maybe the confidence level of the fighter.
I agree with the hype being a part of the show. But what I really was interest in was the speed and defense Sr was teaching Ricky. But I really see anything differnt except now he can slip and duck during pad work.

Don't equate Pac to Mallignagi. Pauli got no power at all. Pac's best punches are the one coming from the distance while hatton's best are the one that requires him to get Closer. Pac will unload a lot already & create Damage before Hatton can land his best Body punch on Pac. And that it if he can land one.
of course...but malginaggi tryed to get cute thinking he could fluster hatton with speed, and would get clubbed with hooks and jabs...actually pacs power left is him coming forward and firing off the front foot if hatton is up in his face, hard to get the shot off...hopefully hatton can make this a nasty bloody fight...i think it plays to his advantage...sure hatton does cut, but if pac cuts it really does effect him
yea you could be right...both guys have been the agressors there whole carear...i see them trying to hit hatton and then move a lot...the problem is hatton does have a few counter options, i think hatton will be agressive but much more controled under floyd, sr...oscar and david diaz couldnt move at all...hatton is active...i see both pac and hatton getting hit...but the difference i see pacs primary defense is to just run if he gets hit...imo i dont see hi able to hold up if thats the stategy...we will see
Agreed. Its who can handle the other ones shots the longest. :blackeye:
well hatton is used to fighting guys with a huge reach advantage on him...maginaggi had a 71 to hattons 65....hes done this his whole carear...and pac is only 67'.....i dont see this a huge factor...i think roach is gettin pac ready and well conditioned....but they seem to totally be mishandling hatton as fighter imo

I think we will see a very game Ricky Hatton against Pacman. Whether his A game is enough to beat Pacquiao is the question, because Pac always has his A game.
I think Floyd Sr. is helping Ricky become a more complete fighter and he's going to need it.
True, hatton and Sr might be also be mishandling what to expect out of pac also. I think they're putting to much on the size differnce. Hatton is the bigger guy, but they seem to think they can just get by picking off some of pacs punches. What happens after 6 rds of pac hitting hatton 4-1 when he's getting inside and that big punching power advantage their expecting isn't their.

Not really. I've been picking Pac by late stoppage from the beginning.
I picking Pac by KO years ago. Way before you guys believe this fight could happen.

And, yes, I speak English
I bet my House, My soul, My name, Pac KAYOs Hatton. I just watch PBF_Hatton in Slowmo. Hatton will turn into English Pinata. That will be Pac's Pinata for his 30th bday next year. Mark my words on This. This fight could happen end of next year or early 2009. Pac will retire Hatton. Is there any Bigger fight for hatton other than Pac 140 & Below???? This will happen... I can't wait.
After Pac retires Hatton, Floyd will come out of retirement just to fight Pac. Floyd got old & rusty, Pac got Bigger Physically, Pac will have a better chance, I give him 50-50 chance.
DLH-Pac only if DLH can make 147.
You guys have to remember that sparring partners are NEVER that good. They're meant to be bad but not too bad, good but not too good..you want the fighter to get used to throwing punches on a person and get confident letting the hands go. If you're filthy rich like Oscar, you might get Shane Mosley to act as a sparring partner but thats about it..
Hatton has really improved, he used to just rush in when attacking, I think that made the difference in the Malignaggi fight. He was using his jab and then workin his offense. This will be key against Pacquiao...
Who he will have an obvious size advantage against, and that will be the matchup. Speed and movement of Pac vs. the Size and intensity of Hatton.
There's no way this will be a bad fight.
I agree that hatton improved in the Malignaggi fight, but Pac is a differnt animal. Paulie is a slick boxer who slips punches, while pac moves in and out. Hatton could let his hands go because he didn't have to worry what was coming back at him. I don't think he can fight pac like how he fought Paulie. For sure it will be a great fight. You got two exciting fighters.
