Hopefully...
I think Paul has a weak mindset, and so much of Winky's gameplan is derailing you off of yours. Every time Paul gets hit he gets sent into a war. He won't be able to box and move from a great pressure fighter like Winky. People forget how much pressure Winky puts on because he can be defensive, but he's constantly got his right foot in between your legs and is pounding away with his high jab. I think he will disrupt Williams' rhythm with accurate timed jabs and will be looking to counter with hooks. As long as Winky still has some decent head movement and is active enough he will be able to dominate P Will for 8 good rounds. Of course, it's hard to say for sure with a guy who hasn't fought in 2 years at Light Heavyweight no less, but still. I gots Winky and not just cause I like betting on the old farts.
I doubt he is saying that the fight should be scored for Williams if it was close.
It would clearly be better for boxing if Paul Williams were to win. He is young and willing to fight anybody from welterweight to middleweight. Wright is on his last legs at 37 and only wants the big paydays.
I'm not accusing him of wanting Wright robbed, I'm just saying lots of people wanna see younger fighters win and it ends judges being biased. I think it's better for the old men to win personally. Boxing in more times than not is about the underdog story, and a great fighter coming off a 2 year retirement to reclaim the spotlight is an awesome story and well deserved of Winky. Paul is young and has everything going for him, can easily recover off a loss from Winky, especially if it's a great performance from both men.
I'm sick of hearing that, 'it's better for boxing for old men to lose.' That mind set is also shared by most judges. I figured a guy who loves the old farts as much as you wouldn't feel that way. I think what's best for boxing is when the guy who deserves the decision gets it.
Absolutely, but boxing will be better off if the young man deserves the decision.

Boxing will be better off with Pwill beating the old man. I'm tired of boxings seniors tour. Still it all should depend on how much Winkky has left and wheter he has been able to shed off the rust as well as Vitali did for his comeback.
If Winky has something left he should outpoint the very hittable Williams with ease.
The only thing that can get me to root for Winky is the chance to see the insane pwill nuthugging end.

I really hate Paul Williams with a passion lol.. Not a big fan of Winky either, but I hope he pulls it off.
Hahah I'm a fan of them both, why do you hate either? Winky is a great fighter, he's more exciting than ppl give him credit for and he's a very smart fighter. I can see how the giving away the last round thing can hurt people's perception of him, but he gave Jermain a different type fight than people ever expected and I thought he won that one. Also Paul is very exciting, throws a shit ton of punches, lately has tried to hurt everyone he fights in a big way, and risks his neck way more than he needs to by getting into gun fights inside the range of shorter fighters.
Still, I'm a bigger fan of Winky.
Winky's age and inactivity is the decidin factor of this fight imo, cuz at his best he owns Pwill all day. If Winky is unaffected by his time off, he wins this. It's gonna be one of those fights where the judges gotta choose between quality and quantity. Winky will get outworked, but he'll be the one landin sharp blows all nite. I'm afraid he'll be off his game cuz of the long layoff, but I'm rootin hard for Winky to kick his ass. :boxing:
I'm a Pwill fan, and am starting to think I've bet with my heart not my head.
It all comes down to how Winky does after the time off, and I think he'll actually be ok. Vitali was away for longer, I just think we make too much of time outs soon. Winky is usually in shape and will be well trained for this fight. He's to hard to hit, whilst Paul is too easy to. I hope PWill wins, but that's a bad mix right there.
I did it with Roy Jones. I knew Calzaghe would win, I put my head down when the fight was made, then a day before I bet a couple hundred on Roy like WOOOO! That first round we were jumping and dancing and screaming... then a long quiet night followed by me crying myself to sleep.
Anyway yeah I think Winky is too accurate and Paul needs a new trainer to start working on how to use his height advantage to be more defensive.

The long layoff will hurt Winky too much IMO.
to be honest i dont think it will...He will play it safe for a few rounds until he gets his bearings back and it should be smooth sailing from there

It's a good reason to bet against him. I've been more confident in my bets in the past, I'm just banking on the style matchup nightmare for Paul Williams.
