Bradley got up then took a knee. Doesn't a knee technically count as a knock down since Zab Judah took a knee against Cotto. Or was it counted as two knock downs? I don't know how the rule works. To me it should have counted as two knock downs even if Holt didn't technically knock him down two times in the first round.
Did you just start watching boxing yesterday? It doesn't matter what the fighter does while the ref is counting. He is going to count to 8 regardles of whether the fighter is getting up, doing backflips, crying, or getting up and then taking a knee. It is one count. The ref can choose to stop it without a count if the fighter is clearly done, but if the fighter is going to continue then the ref is going to give an eight count regardless. The fighter can do whatever the hell he wants in that eight.
once the ref starts the count its a KD.
it doesn't matter how many times a fighter gets up and then goes back down once the ref has started the count (see berbick vs tyson or zoo vs judah).
take the case of judah he was initally KD'ed by the right cross but then got back up and fell back down for a second time now that doesn't mean that the second time he fell that the ref should start the count again for a second time. otherwise in berbicks case the ref would have started the count 3 times!!
hope this clears it up.
personally i think bradley was clever and knew that he didn't need to prove a point, he took a knee recovered and then got up at 8, smart move and it shows the guy has his head screwed on.
it counts as one kd...go read the rules of a kd
Can't wait until you get banned again, you're such a douchebag poster. Sign up date is march and you already have over 1,000 posts on here... Incredible... Loser
good point. But i think it counts as one, because you have to take standing 8 count manadorty. So those 8 seconds belong to you; you can do whatever you need to do to recover including taking a knee. So technically it's still one knock down.
Although, Bradely offically got knocked down twice in the fight.
This is correct.

If this was true, then when fighters get KD'd and then get up and stumble back down to the ground the count continues its not counted as two seperate ones.
So, a fighter can effectively take almost EIGHTEEN SECONDS to recover?
Could Tim have stayed on his back for a NINE COUNT THEN TAKE A KNEE FOR ANOTHER NINE COUNT?
I'm not exactly familiar with the rules, but a fighter can take a knee willingly at any time in a fight without forfeiting the fight.

The rule states if a fighter goes down the ref inmediately needs to start the countdown even if you get up and fall 2 or 3 times you have to beat the count in other for the ref to count another knockdown!!!
No, it has to be caused by a punch. He just took a knee to clear his head and get his legs back.
that's not true at all. if you are tired and take a knee without getting punched, it's still a KD.
where? What state? what governing body?
What state? Unifications use the unifed rules, no 3 KD rule, cannot be daved by bell, only ref can stop the fight etc.
Doesn't mention the get up and take a knee theory.
Im not exactly sure on the rule for this but to me it counts as one knockdown because the ref had started the count before he took a knee. Had the ref finished the count and allowed the fight to continue, and then Bradley took a knee, that would probably count as another knockdown.
