According to a published report by The National Radio Company of Ukraine, on Tuesday Vitali Klitschko held a news conference in Kyiv. One of the many topics Klitschko hit on was in regards to a rematch with Lennox Lewis.
Klitschko has stated time and time again that his biggest dream in the boxing is to get a rematch with Lewis. In regards to his dream rematch with Lewis, the publication reports that Klitschko stated at the press event that talks with Lewis for a rematch are over and there will be no rematch.
Klitschko divulged to the press on hand that Lewis wanted a purse split 70/30 in his favor but that Klitschko was only prepared to fight for a 50/50 split.
Lewis has been retired from boxing since 2006 and has repeatedly denied reports of comeback rumors.
If Lewis said he would come back for a 70/30 split Vitali should have bit his hand off. It would be this biggest Heavyweight fight since Tyson v Lewis and even with only 30% would make him more money than any other fight out there.
Exactly.
he was a replacement for a mediocre fighter who dropped out.
He got owned by a passed it Lewis. I mean Lewis, the same Lewis that is known to be very defensive. yet V Klitschko got owned by TKO. His face was the way it was not because of an accidental or intentional headbut. It was because of Lewis boxing.
End of discussion.
What fight was you watching?
50/50 is pretty generous considering Vitali is a current champ and he was pretty much kicking Lennox's ass.
I know 50-50 is fair but who gives a shit about fair.
You're gonna need a much better offer than that to get Lewis out of retirement, especially after this long out of the ring, when so much is at risk. I thought 70-30 was generous from Lewis concidering how bad Vitali claimed he wanted it.
In fact, Vitali is full of it, 70-30 in a Lewis rematch would be his biggest purse ever, in a fight he claimed he wanted more than anything. He should have bitten his hand of. If only to see if Lewis was serious.
Yeap and that's what Vitali has been trying to tell Lennox for years now.
He got scared into retirement. There's no other explaination for it.doesnt really matter. Vitali gave him all he could handle. It was a tougher fight for Lennox than the Bruno, or even a Mercer fight. Why would he come out for the second time if he wasnt confident about beating Vitali. He secured his record, in the end Vitali was declared a TKO loser. It's an official result and cant be overuled.
Just refer to post #7 on this thread as well because you just repeated what somebody else already said. How original.
I didn't read any of the posts before I posted and so what if I posted something someone else did. I bet 20 other ppl are going to post the same basic thing as well. stop crying and get a life.

LMAO at a 50-50 split! no harm in being optimistic I suppose. What I want to knw is, is this it? s he now going to let it go for ever?
He must have heard Carl Froch and realised thats what he sounded like!
Klitscko was winning the fight, and had Lewis in trouble in the fight, but Lewis landed some crazy hay makers, ripped Vitallis face apart and got the TKO win he deserved. Guys honestly if that fight were to go on Klitscko would have been blind right now, and I was rooting for Klitscko that night.

oh god. Lewis has been inactive for 5 years and he's like 45 years old and 300lbs. give it up vitali, you got owned by a past prime and fat lewis already.
Exactly.

LMAO :liar:
You sound pretty defensive considering you are the one suddenly bringing this up..and defending Lewis when no one has attacked him
Defensive?
Er.. i dont think so. I think lewis is bad enough as it is, and had it easy considering he faced his best opposition who were out of their prime.
That said, Vitali is a good champion, but Vitali fans need to give it a rest. He was beat up by Lennox, of all people.
and "Bringing it up" ??
I did not make the thread mate

Klitschko really needs to give it up. He had his chance and got his mace mutilated.
