Forget whatever Margarito and Capetillo did with the plaster incident. The California State Athletic Commishion should be investigated at every level. What really bothers me is the fact that the wraps were evaluated and approved prior to Richardson objection. Margarito's wraps were evaluated in the previous fights too. Since 2005, Margarito has fought at California, Nevada, New Jersey and New York. In California, he previously fought Paul Williams. He fought Cotto and Cintron in Nevada. In NY and New Jersey, he fought Clottey, Cintron and Johnson.
So it is highly unlikely for the same commishioner deputy to be in charge in supervising the hand wrapping for each fight at different states. Then again, who knows if Capetillo (and Bob Arum) knew who to pay in order to have the deputy look the other way during the wrapping process. No wonder Arum is doing "everything on his power" to save Margarito's ass. Maybe he is been blackmailed to do so...
The fact that Tony's wraps were cleared prior to the Mosley fight is THE MOST HORRIFYING FACT people seems to be over-looking. It's going to be hard to find this kind of corrupting evidence, but then again, history has shown that BOXING is not the Sport Of Gentlemen that used to be long, long ago...
So what do you think??? Other than Capetillo and Margarito, WHO ELSE SHOULD FACE THIS INVESTIGATION???
Every single big fight? C'mon. You mean to tell me Cotto's trainer purposely looked over the plaster handwraps. They touch the wraps too my friend. They would have noticed it being abnormally hard. Hell, aparantly from one member; Roach was so detailed he thought DLH put too much tape on his hands.
We should ask the Cotto team if they ask to feel the gauze. Maybe they did not trusting the other team, maybe Capetillo found a way to distract them while he place the pre-prepared gauze... Why has the Cotto team kept that quite about the issue when they were the ones watching???, not Richardson's time around... things that makes you go huummm...

They may not have done it every fight, but I'd say there is a good chance they did it before. Why cheat for Mosely, who you were supposed to walk over, but not Cotto, who was the favorite?
what part of mental **** di you not get man, hopkins and his other trainer(bouie) said they were playing games.........
still, the main complaint was too much tape, too much gauze, very noticeable when you over do it.....
Then why were these allegations raised before yet Richardson is the one who caught it? How did he know there was tape on tape where there should have been tape on gauze? Maybe because he's been at this his entire life?
Why not? Luis Resto and Panama Lewis got away with it on more occasions than just the Billy Collins fight.

And the Trinidad fight?

still, the main complaint was too much tape, too much gauze, very noticeable when you over do it.....and its easy to claim this and have this be true, because people do try to put a little more gauze to protect and a little more tape to tighten.......
I don't care how much money you give, me I won't take a fight were a guy can smake me around with a cast on. It's just not right what Margarito is and his team did to win fights.
dude, the way nazeem "discovered" the shits is what every non idiot should do...
walks in , margarito hand already wrapped, trainer has the right to watch the opponent get wrapped, so rules say wrap again....
capetillo starts wrapping, tape directly into the skin-illegal, trainer complains(genious so far huh?)
prepared cushion knucklepad-wow it would have never crossed my mind that an already prepared knucklepad could contain something inside, even if theres no visual external image to indicate foul play, only a total ****ing moron would not want to feel it....
notices its hard and wet......holy shit, it takes a ****ing genious to feel something is hard and wet..........
im amazed by naz's incredible knowledge....
And the Trinidad fight?
How is it apples & oranges if your putting someone's life at stake? Sure my examples may seem exaggerated but a persons life is the same whether on operating table or in a ring.
Bottom line everyone needs to be accountable for their own actions! That guy knows he does not belong there!
You don't seem to unserstand the being a boxing inspector is a part time job. Its sidework for most of these guys. You can't blame someone for being ignorant. If he has training and it got by him, he is partly accointable too. I doubt that was the case though.
You say the guy knows he doesn't belong there. Who does than, somebody has to be. I'll tell you who.......someone who has been properly trained. If the California state athletic commision decides to let incompetant people represent them, who's fault is that?
Just "feeling" a wrap and knowing how and why it is illegal are two different things.

I agree. I believe Margarito & his trainer should be banned, but also the incompetent idiot who is paid to sign a cast should be terminated!
yep, that's probably as far as it goes.
You're comparing apples and oranges here. Would a hospital hire someone to perform surgery after a 24 hr course? If they did they would be more culpable than the person who THOUGHT he knew what he was doing.
and even if he was married to someones sister, doesn't that say more about the commision that hired him than the man himself?

All the more reason to believe he only tried it against Mosley. There is no way in hell that he can fight every time with those wraps on and not be discovered. They check the wraps every fight, the opponent's trainer also checks the wraps. Nothing was seen until now. There is no possible way that they would be approved all other times before and no one notice the plaster. No way in hell.

Would you willingly perform surgery on a patient after a 24 hr crash course? That dude is as guilty as anyone else. He probably was married to someone's sister.

Thing is, these commisions consider their inspectors "qualified". Can't really blame the guy if he was allowed to be an inspector but not properly trained.

Because that would be like me taking a job for missile defense for our country knowing I don't know shit about it. Yet, I knowingly take the responsibility and put innocent peoples' lives at stake for money. That's a pretty good reason he should be terminated!
... but your right the guys who hired him and "trained" him should also be disciplined!

bad example, that was even more of a mental ****, lulz......and they didnt even find anything bad with him....
BUT.......Richardson DID find something wrong withe Tito's wraps, and if there was nothing bad about it why did the commision make him have his hands retaped. Credit where credit is due.
anyone who actually gives a shit about rules and is not an idiot can feel a ****ing wrap....

Why terminate a guy who was in most likelyhood never trained to find these kinds of discrepancies? He would only be a fall guy. The real blame should be placed on (other than Margs and Capetillo) the CSAC for not spending the money to train these guys, who for all intent purposes is just a figurhead of their commision.

What about the Trinidad fight? People who have been in the buisness know how to be sneaky. Other people who have been in the buisness know what to look for. Richardson deserves all the credit.
