Probably impossible to prove in a court of law unless someone rolls over. However, ALL logical arguments conclude that Margarito/Capetillo did this before. I would say at least the Williams and Cotto fight. I'm willing to bet he did it after his loss to Santos. Just look at the ways he's won since then. Sure he lost to PW, but he didn't land enough to make it show if he was packing anyway. He punched Lujan's ear off! Brutal KOs after brutal KOs. It seems like a desperate attempt to make something out of Margarito than he could normally have ever been. Possibly this was all concocted by his trainer who knew this.

I speculate he used it against the guys who he KO'd/busted up badly. Clottey and Williams were neither. But like you said, its speculation. Clottey and Williams have better chins and are more durable than Cintron and Cotto. If Margarito was packing heat against Cotto who has been hurt numerous times before and couldn't lay him out I don't think he would have been able to do so against Clottey or Williams who are harder to hurt.

He barely hit Clottey cleanly all fight, and he has that jaw structure where his face just doesnt look worn after fights even if he does get hit. Williams also avoided more punishment than Cotto did. I think it's only fair to assume he cheated for a while now. It's kind of crazy looking back at it, because Marg always had that look of a heavy handed fighter. A guy who looks like he's punching slow and soft, but really hits hard. And he has the same power in both hands.

I think common sense tells us if someone got caught cheating, they likely cheated before. But there's no factual proof.

The latest news is what he tried to use against SSM was confirmed to be plaster. That's all. Shit still ain't been proven about the Cotto fight. Let it go. He's suspended and lost his cred, while Cotto is still goin strong and gettin ready for a unification fight.

He tooks his wraps off while in the ring in both the Clottey and Williams fights. After the Williams loss he never took his wraps off again, while it's not conclusive proof it's enough to make you doubt he used it in those fights. exactly, i stated this before in another thread and i'll state it again. marg started cheating after the williams loss. marg was a champion for a while untill he loss the belt to williams. back then arum was gona match up cotto and marg but marg chose to fight his mandatory williams instead because he didn't want to be stripped of his belt after working so hard to win it and defending it. he figured he would beat williams and then fight cotto but his plan backfired and he lost to williams. i think the loss to williams affected him and he wanted badly to get back to the top so he started cheating. then we saw golden johnson get knocked out in the first round, cintron beatdown easy(with or without cheating that would've happened lol) beatdown cotto when cotto was never beatendown like that before, then he got caught cheating vs mosley and all of a sudden his punches had no affect whatsoever vs mosley and he got beatendown. the fact that marg tried to re-used the wraps from previous fights to the mosley fight is proof he cheated against cotto and before cotto. the blood stain on the wraps was there after the cotto fight and before the mosley fight when the csac confiscated them. and no the blood stain wasn't cotto's blood unless marg had contact with a bloody cotto after the fight when they took the gloves off marg. it was margs blood, margs team said he injured his hand when nazeem requested they take off the wrap that was already on margs hand.

It is up to Cotto to avenge his lose. Regardless of Margarito possibly cheating, it isn't proven and till then, Margarito will be known as the better fighter out of the 2. That is the sad truth I disagree... In a case where someone is caught cheating in any type of professional sports, their history gets tainted heavily. I mean, look at Barry Bonds. People forget about how great a hitter he was prior to him balooning into a monster. He's "officially" the Home Run king, but with a huge *, and people will never let that go. With Margarito, its the same thing. You date back to his prior fights and you gotta ask yourself the question, "Did he cheat?". The simple fact that you have to do that taints his entire career regardless of when officially he started using the wraps. Public presumption is a mutha, but in this case it's justifiable.

He might have. I also think he used it in both Cintron fights. But short of a confession from Marg, we will never know the truth. Cant happen. So he used it in 2007 against Cotto? (something I now think he did) Didn't use it against Williams or Clottey, but used it against Cintron in the first fight, sonned him, and used it in the second once again eventhough he fought Cintron before Williams? ....If we are going to speculate I think we should just say he used it against all of those guys, and it not only did so against Mosley.
