Don't say things like it's not Vitali's fault the current crop of heavyweights aren't good enough or he should be undefeated because of the cut against Lewis or because of his shoulder problem against Byrd. Let's go off facts. One great fighter Vitali faced and lost to. That was a past prime and out of shape Lennox Lewis. Are you seriously trying to say victories over the likes of Sam Peter and Danny Williams put him up with the all time greats?
Let's see. He got owned against a retiring Lewis who only took Vitali as a replacement because one of his opponents pulled out.
No.. Sorry, He does not even make the Top 30 imo.
I don't think anybody with any sense is saying he's an all time-great. He is the best of his era probably though, and that has to count for something. All time greats usually come in bunches and without other top shelf guys to fight, Vitali is just a big fish in a small pond.
Vitali would eat up Louis(i think Louis is P4P way better, but he is too small), Foreman, and Holmes.
And come on, Lewis was not that far out of his prime, Heavies stay in their prime alot longer than the smaller weights. And you know that without the cut Vitali would have KOed Lewis, thats why lewis retired.
Hes not an ATG but he has a chance to beat any ATG out there.
Vitally got beat to a bloody pulp and stopped by the only ATG he ever faced, not to mention Lewis was heavier then he ever was for a fight, and was nowhere near his prime, while even though he was TKOed that was the best performance of Vitali's career.
Hes not an ATG but he has a chance to beat any ATG out there.
I agree with most of this, though who has he faced apart from a fat old out of prime Lewis who still stopped him to prove that he can beat any ATG's?
