Ricky's looking good, so is Manny. And this is still EARLY in preparation, to think that the first episode of 24/7 doesn't air for another 3 weeks and they both look sharp already.
This is gunna be a good fight.
Yep, its gonna be a great fight. Both fighters are really going all out for this one and should make it a war on the night. I don't think it'll be one sided at all, I can see it being a Marquez/Pacquiao style fight, not so much fighting styles, but in terms of the way rounds are won and lost, but this time one of them will get KO'd.
I know we've had this conversation before, but I'll say it again:
Hatton had no reason to clinch in the Malignaggi fight.
Why does a fighter clinch anyway? It's usually when he's hurt or afraid of being hurt. There is absolutely nothing to fear when fighting Paulie Malignaggi. Pacquiao hits about 10 times harder. Different story.
I find it very difficult to see how the Paulie fight can be used as any kind of measuring stick in terms of Ricky's improvement. Hatton could do anything he wanted in that fight because he was able to walk right through everything that was thrown at him.
Yeah, I know he had no reason to clinch, but I think it's just a coincidence that the Malignaggi fight happened when he got Mayweather as his new trainer. Had it been any other fighter, Hatton would have tried to box the same way, as this is what Mayweather has been trying to teach him. The majority of people were saying before that fight, it was the boxer vs the brawler, and well Hatton proved he could outbox the "boxer".
Anyways, i think we're gonna have to agree to disagree on everything Hatton/Pacquiao related, and just wait until May 2nd to see who's right lol
I think this'll be a decent fight till hatton gets stopped on cuts, if he can save his face being torn up by the speed of pacman then he could take it, hopefully we're in for a classic.
I think so, you know. He showed that he can box good without clinching in his last fight, and that was only with a few weeks training with Mayweather. I hope he mixes his styles though, and keeps Manny guessing so he can't get into his rythm.

From the video it seems like the plan for hatton is feint to the body and hook to the head...and work in reverse once Pacquiao covers up top. Its very transparent though and still implements Hatton's straightforward style which was his entire problem in the 1st place.
hatton looks good moving forward and throwing punches, but will we see that in the fight instead of clinching???

True, Ricky looks super quick there. Keep it up !

hatton still comes in head first. that is gonna really hurt him against manny.
I think Mayweather is getting him out of that bad habit, as there was some improvement to that side of Ricky's game in the Malignaggi fight, more head movement, etc. I think Ricky and Mayweather will know that coming in head first will not work against Pacquiao, so that will be one thing they will work on in training - thats what training camp is for.
respect to ricky...he's a solid fighter but this is a train wreck waiting to happen IMO
it will be competitive in the early rounds but that speed differential will be evident early on...it will snowball from there
I don't think so mate. Ricky is alot faster than people give him credit for - you can see that in the Malignaggi fight and the video I posted. Manny is quicker but not by all that much. His improvements will be more evident in this fight also, so Manny will not know what hit him after the first bell - which is exactly what happened with Malignaggi. Not comparing Pacquiao to Malignaggi, just saying that Manny will find it difficult to adjust and cope with Hatton.
it wont be a great fight....by the 5th round, there will already be 'Hatton Was Shot' threads floating on NSB
It should be a cracker of a fight, a real tear up. I cant see this one being over by the 5th, no way. It'll be rough, bloody and I think reasonably close.
I never pick who I think I will win until a day or two before the fight. At this stage my heart says Hatton but my head says Pac. Both guys are capable of KO each other, and I cannot wait for this!
May the best man win.
Ricky always looks super fast doing pad work, but we rarely see that much of it when he fights.
And Pac man is the wrong guy to try it on. Just stick to plan A for this one Ricky, push him against the ropes, hold him, and knock the sh1t out of him!
I think a mixture of the styles would be good for Ricky on the night
