J C Chavez vs Hatton prime@140lbs. Good fight this would of been. I see Chavez punishing Hatton though. Hatton is a tough kid, but he has never really had to ship the kinda punishment Chavez could of put on him. Chavez had the BEST placement of a left hook to the body ive ever seen.
The reason Chavez was so devastating on the inside is, because he was like Hagler, he had a beard made of iron in his prime, and he would bang the body exclusively on the inside.
Hatton would not outmuscle Chavez either.
imo, Lopez was a little too far gone for me to mention him as a big win, although Chavez wasnt exactly prime either when he beat him....same with Rafa Limon, but he was in much worse shape than Lopez at the time.
I could have also named guys like John Duplessis, Angel Hernandez etc if I wanted to name all the guys that were top ten when Chavez beat them, but if a person is putting down Chavez in the first place they very likely would not know these guys were top fighters in the division.
Great post blackirish, if i had any green let to give out i would hit you up.
..........And Tiger Lopez.

He fought and beat mostly bums, cab drivers, tomato cans. He got lucky against Meldrick Taylor though. Got another luck Drwa against whitaker, gets his ass kicked by KT and Oscar, got beat by Randall. He has some decent wins, But mostly fought cab drivers.
I will give you that in Mexico he did have a lot of wins against lower class fighters. But you can say the same about Hattons record in England. But once he came to the U.S. he was fighting everybody, I don't think he was lucky at all against Taylor he beat the sh!t out of him, as for Whitaker I agree and KT and Oscar he was past his prime but what about Rosario, Mayweather, Haugen, Camacho, etc.. you can't just say there bums.
I have to defend Chavez so often its almost sad, but whatever, heres a previous post I made on Chaveznotice that I left out the wins over Randall and Taylor, because people thought they were controversial. Its a real shame the Taylor fight wasnt 15 rounds, because then the only controversial thing about that fight would have been the number of low blows Taylor was able to land.
Randall is very, very underrated fighter. and Chavez was on the downslide at that point anyway. if youve ever seen the first fight between those two, you would know that that version of Randall would have beaten almost everyone at 140 and even 147 today.

does that really look like a 'crude, face-first low-skill' fighter to you? cmon now.
did he beat a lot of bums? yes. I think he had about 40 fights before his first real test.
but he also had a ton of wins over future of former belt holders and fought a lot of legitimate top fighters at his different weight classes, like
-Edwin Roasrio
-Mario Martinez
-Ruben Castillo
-Roger Mayweather x2, at different weight classes
-Juan LaPorte
-Rocky Lockridge
-Jose Luis Ramirez
-Greg Haugen
-Terrance Ali
-Hector Camacho
-Lonnie Smith
-Giovanni Parisi
among others.
Chavez was obviously past prime against Tyszu and DeLaHoya. Morales was shot at even younger age than Chavez, 30, but that doesnt change the fact that he had an amazing career and is one of the best ever around his weight.notice that I left out the wins over Randall and Taylor, because people thought they were controversial. Chavez would have stopped him within 6 or 7 rounds. probebly via check hook and then a follow up TKO. yall might laugh, but Chavez had one. he dropped Meldrick Taylor with it in their second fight and seriously hurt Andy Holligan with it, who was the best 140lb British fighter in the world.
Chavez would have devastated the poor guy with uppercuts and body shots up to that point though.
one sided fight.
Your joking right.....

I've never heard of Edwin Rosario, Frankie Randall, Pernell Whitaker, Meldrick Taylor, Hector Camacho, Angel Hernandez, Roger Mayweather, Miguel Angel Gonzalez or Jose Luis Ramirez.
Not to mention Oscar De La Hoya and Kostya Tszyu quite past his prime.
Nope, never heard of those guys.
Hatton, people need to remember Chavez fought strictly bums. Hatton will give him side movement, And good footwork. I don't see Hatton stopping Chavez however, I just think he would win a close Dec.

Anything Hatton can do, Chavez can do better. Anything Hatton tries, Chavez has the answer for. Chavez beat better technical boxers in Camacho, Taylor, and Mayweather and beat strong pressure fighters like Ramirez along with a fantastic knockout artist/boxer puncher in Rosario. This is a mismatch IMO, and Hatton would be cringing whenever those body shots start landing. Ends before 8.
Yep. outsmarted/outboxed JL Ramirez and toughed it out with Juan La Porte. Chavez is too versatile for Hatton.

but wat if hatton used hes smarts and boxed
"hatton used hes smarts" or his smarts? i dont think hatton has ever "used hes smarts"...LOL! chavez wins...
In Chavez' prime, only the VERY best TECHNICAL boxers could honestly beat him. Meldrick Taylor and Pernell Whitaker, far better than Hatton. Both are the only two to honestly convince me that they could beat Chavez, depending on who had the better night that night.
Hatton is a good boxer, solid fighter overall. All three of the guys I just spoke about, stop Hatton. And probably within 8 or 9 rounds.
