any good fighter will have fans of different races and nationalities, however the only people who like amir are muslim or british....why is that?
because hes not really good, and some people who identify with him are hoping he will be?
you cant help that glass chin, ask audley
i am scottish my dad was pakistani and i did not care much for Amir until last week. I thought that he was going to one of Warrens "protected" fighters and pick up an IBO or a WBO belt but i think training with Manny and having Roach in his corner can make him into a good exciting boxer.
If he can fix his defence he has all the tools to become a world star.
I also like the fact that after the Prescott defeat he was quite humble about the whole thing,
I think Freddie has a big say in who he will be fighting and i expect Warren to listen to Roach and Roach to pick the fights,
I like the fact he said he wants Prescott and as much as it annoyed me i like the fact that he admitted that a Marquez fight is too early for him. It takes real balls for a boxer to say that.
I wouldn't call myself a big fan of his but I think he is going to have a great career.
I like him a lot but it feels there's a relatively low ceiling on what he can accomplish due to you know what.

Race ,nationality and religion are NOT prerequisites to liking a fighter or not..At least not in my case...
If he stops sucking his own cock.. and wins some big fights.. I could see myself liking him..( I am white Christian) ..he certainly has some serious Offensive gifts..
I wouldnt call myself a fan of his, but Im actually starting to respect him a lot. since his lost to Prescott, he didnt go into hiding feasting on bums, he actually went out there and picked a fight with the well known Barrera.
many people will say that Barrera was past prime, past his best weight, etc. and you know what, its all true. but all the same, the only people hes lost to in years were the P4P #1 and the P4P #2, and many people thought that it would be a lesser version of what Barrera did to Hamed. for the record I didnt, but it still a risky matchup for Khan.
and whats more, hes asking for a Prescott rematch, and Ive heard he wants to fight Valero. He aint afraid to go after someone who beat him and a big puncher despite his china shop chin.
I respect him for that.
his style is rather fun to watch too, and the added fact that his legs could melt at the first clean punch he takes adds suspense to his fights.
I would say I'm a Big fan of his. I've been watching him for many fights now. Watched his documentary (His Story So Far), seen him get knocked down and get back up to win. Impressive young fighter.
I gotta say, one of my favorite moments was seeing him on 24/7 at Wild Card Gym, taking guidance from Freddie Roach and sparring Manny Pacquiao. What an incredible collaboration. Blew my mind. Had me smiling from ear to ear.
Oh, and to get back to the OP's point - I'm Vietnamese-American.
if only we had the smallest bit of knowledge on this board....
race is SKIN COLOUR! (in canadian i know most of you spell it color) muslim, is not a race its a religion. i did not mention race once.
i also didn't say all british fans were muslim either... read it again, if there's any other words you don't understand, there's many people on this board that are smart enough to clarify for you, me being one of them.
What a pathetic thread. Did you conduct a national survey and discover EVERY British Khan fan is Muslim? How the **** is Khan getting so much spotlight and stardom then? What a racist asshole.
i know im generalizing thats sort of the point.
- meaning hes not good, not populr, has no characteristics to be the star that SOME brits and muslims make him out to beAnd my point is that your generalization is making you believe things that just aren't true. Khan does have a wider fan base than you're aware of and he does have star potential.

Im pretty sure I saw some guy from New York with Khan as his avatar on here. I was pretty suprised tbh. I suppose tonights fight with barrera put him on the international stage.
Im british and a fan of Khan btw, not muslim though.
