no one in the 108 division can take on calderon
Calderon's a defensive wizard, but Segura's got great power and he's young. I'd like to see that fight in about a year or so.
Damn it! I was looking forward to watching this fight and I missed it.
The fight was a thriller man, I'm gonna have to watch it again today. They were throwing bombs, again.
they repeated the canchilla-segura fight. ref didnt hear bell till it rang three times. conchilla trainer ran in ring. ref stopped fight. something was said by reff or conchilla trainer to make segura immediatly dive to his knees and raise his arms in celebration.
It was quite a mess in the ring after that round. I was amazed at how Canchilla, while getting hurt and going down was able to get up and still look dangerous. What if the fight would have continued after that round? Should there be a rubber match?
I agree, one thing though. He seems to have fairly good variety of punches thrown at weird angles when he wants.
He definitely needs to tighten stuff up.
But the kid's got very good power and he's arrogant about it. He'll sell tickets thats for sure.
ya no doubt ... he makes exciting fights throws a lot has great power, but he need to tighten up technically that all i'm saying i an not very impressed by him in terms of boxing ability.
I see your point, he just throws hard and throws often, makes for exciting fights but not good for his longevity.
He throws so much though. Like steelhead said, the punch stats must've been nuts.
I mean no way he threw less than 100 in any round tonight.

Right now, I think Calderon has his way with Segura, but if Segura can land one of those bombs, you never know. Segura is young, he'll press forward the entire fight.
imo he showed a lot of fatigue in this fight and of course in the first fight too ... i think stamina can be an issue since he throws and misses lots of wild bombs ...
My thing about this is, Calderon hasn't fought a southpaw in a long time, but Calderon is way to slick and smart to be getting hit by wide thrown bombs.
I just can't see it happening.
But if Calderon gets old overnight, it may be closer but now, Calderon would embarass him.
I like Segura. I like his style.
He's entertaining and he's part of a good future of lower weight fighters.
But Calderon would take him to school.

Segura throws way to wide to catch Calderon. His best shot is to switch back and forth stances to throw him off and try to catch him that way. I highly doubt it though.
Yeah, and he seemed to be about to get tired, Calderon would school him if they fight.

cosign ... i dont think he has the skills to pull off any kind of upset ...
Good fight, bad ending. It was confusing to me, it semmed like Canchila's corner were about to sit him and give him insatructions for the next round but the fight was over, before that the bell rang and Segura kept throwing bombs.
The ending looked like amateur night. The bell rang only once and both fighters stopped. And then suddenly Segura started throwing again. Meanwhile the ref is just standing there watching. Then the bell rang again, and the ref jumped in and raised his arm, but it was confusing, because I wasn't sure if he was saying the round was over or if the fight was over!
It wasn't until the replay that you saw the corner jump in. Hella confusion.

Finito Lopez was commentating on the fight and he was saying that Mijares was approaching the fight the wrong way. He was like too macho and forgot to use his jab, no lateral movements, but it seemed like he won anyways, I'm very disapointed.
ya most are saying they scored it 116-112 for mijares ... its a shame ... i watched the last 3 rounds of it seemed to be a good fight. too bad it didnt go the right way.
